Genuinely speaking, if Byler isn’t canon/endgame I’ll be SO upset. Not because I’m one of those toxic shippers all ships have, but because the Duffers never explicitly shut it down and actively capitalized off of queer audiences for years. I want Byler to happen because I want queer people to win and it would be so so so important for a show as big as Stranger Things to have a gay couple as the main couple.

Too many people are saying that, if Byler doesnt happen it’s “not queerbait” when it would ONE HUNDRED AND TEN PERCENT be queerbait. Them not shutting down Byler in season 4, pulling the plot into season 5, and then not having it be endgame would be queerbait. Not saying it has to be endgame, although it definitely should, it would be one of the WORST cases of queerbait.

If byler doesn’t happen I will genuinely be so pissed off bc of the duffers using queer audiences for more money and then they literally tease and lowk insult bylers (by calling them loud in that one interview). Like yes, Duffers, the shippers of your show’s most popular ship WILL be louder because they’re a huge portion of your audience 🫩
