The main features of these creatures are cartilage stabilizing the "wings" similar to the ceratotrichia of manta rays, porous structures resembling keratinous gombs along the underside of the body and the head. they rise into the air, bouncing off the cliffs.. they sleep like bats technically, too.

They also have a wide-angle perceptions, it's not clear where it comes from (now it's clear; shared Tailgraver ancestor) but it certainly helps them see their prey from a distance during mineral noise.

They are large herding herbivores specializing in difficult, rocky terrain;

They move using a massive tail tipped with a keratinous club. Their arms are reduced to prehensile, clawed hands, used primarily for manipulating food and supporting themselves while resting.

Males are heavier, with larger tail clubs, extensive bony crests, and fangs. They compete for females with tail slaps and vocal displays.

The longer, narrower skull, ending in a keratonized "mouth" (something like a beak), is used to dig out growths from rocky recesses. Females have longer necks than males to more easily obtain food while caring for their young.

Their eyes are situated at the top of the skull (not fully visible in the illustrations due to their thick neck) and they have a panoramic view due to their prey function I don't even know if they have ears...

But their stocky build and keratinous scales act as shock absorbers during monopodal locomotion - they use their tail as a spring to propel themselves and thus move.

Kharstis is a relatively tiny planet in a binary star system (it circles around two suns). It's water storage is mostly preserved under the crust, leaking from deep niches between canyons. It's characterized by low-density atmosphere, which allows the increase of creature's weight without directly burdening them
