Nice little rehearsal in prep for a weekend charity gig. https://ift.tt/5da19TG https://ift.tt/QWf07VI 2.25 hours of rehearsal for the charity gig this weekend. A fairly quick run-through, but with the usual issues trying to get the intro to Socks On Fire (with apologies to Kings of Leon) working (I’m still not convinced it will – the drummer is OK, but it’s all a bit much for him, bless!) Should be a good, easy gig, but the weather forecast is pretty atrocious. High winds and potential for rain – so I’m thinking about how to insulate both myself, and the gear I take. I’ll keep it smallish, I think, easy to move if the weather decides to bite back. Who knows, first gig in a blizzard? Lovely musicians, one hell of a lead vocalist. These are the kind of people you meet at jam nights, people. Lovely people! This is the event we’re playing at – the First Days children’s charity Glow Walk, this Saturday. More pedals – bass filter pedalboard! https://ift.tt/gVht5wp https://ift.tt/7qC6uzx MONTHS IN THE MAKING! You know how you’ll keep some #effectspedals because they’ve got sentimental value? Well, I realised I had 3 filter pedals I’d never sell, so I bought some more and make a FILTER PEDAL BOARD! This is an extension board for my main one, which has an HX stomp loop available. That’ll cope with putting a limiter after the board to ensure it’s kept under control for level! Already tinkered with the @drolofx Kiwami after the SYB-5 and that sounds BONKERS. The SYB has the EV-5 plugged into it, so it makes amazing sounds. I love all these pedals!! Here it is being laid out… Early layout Then I repaired the Drolo Kiwami I got on BassChat (EPIC pedal!) Here’s me working on the underside… All the bits strewn everywhere Then, finally… it works!! Tidiest board I’ve built! And the underside turned out pretty well too. Cable routing – several were quite long.
