VANS HOUSE PARTIES | BROOKLYN | DEERHUNTER

Atlanta is mostly known for hip-hop and R&B, but it’s also where indie rock band Deerhunter formed in 2001. The House of Vans Brooklyn hosted a night curated by the band, and their headlining set left us wanting more. Fronted by Bradford Cox, Deerhunter has found a loyal fan base that has allowed them to evolve their unique sound, impressive live show and even how they distribute their music.

The band hasn’t released a digital format since their 2015 LP Fading Frontier and instead took a different approach with their 2018 release. In May, a cassette tour-only album was released, but the supply didn’t last long. All 300 copies sold the first night of the tour. Fans were in a frenzy to grab Double Dream of Spring, and sites like Pitchfork called the release “spontaneous yet brimming with ideas.” Most recently Deerhunter has been playing shows all over the globe including Primavera Sound 2018 and a string of shows with Kings of Leon.
