Marcella was lying in her hospital bed doubting she would ever have a child when the door opened and in came Lucille. "I was terribly depressed and barely able to talk," Marcella remembered. "She did not say a word, not even hello. She simply started humming burlesque music. She took off her hat, she took off her coat, and did a striptease down to her underwear. She had me screaming and laughing, and then she put on her clothes and went home and never did say one word to me about the whole incident. I was a different person after that."
