Could you explain how the new sponsorships are going to work?
Sure thing! With the new Sponsorship changes, the price has changed to $19.99/6 Months and they also introduced a new kind of Sponsorship option called Double Gold. Sponsors are also called First members (or FIRSTies according to Barbara) as a way to help explain the new changes to the sponsorship. The standard First membership is $4.99 a month, or $19.99 every six months. As with Sponsorships, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial to see what it’s all about. First Double Gold memberships are $34.99 a month, or $179.99 every six months, but remember that this gets you $60+ in exclusive merch every month, in addition to the benefits of the standard First membership and then some.
For First memberships, you get:
5% discount at the Rooster Teeth Store
Early access to live event ticket sales
Gold star by your profile name
Double Gold memberships get all of that plus:
Monthly box of exclusive merch valued at $60+
10% discount at the Rooster Teeth Store
Early access to live event VIP passes
Exclusive contests and giveaways
Monthly Q&A with Rooster Teeth staff
Double Gold star by your profile name
Now I’ve been reading around through the comments in the journal and here’s what I’ve discovered
If you change your membership status in the middle of another one (like going from 6-month First to 6-month Double God) your original membership will be put on hold until your Gold runs out. From there you’ll finish out the rest of the 6-month First membership
If you change your membership in the middle of another one, you will loose your grandfather status.
They have not discussed the pricing on shipping for the monthly box. They wanted to wait and see feedback on the idea before they discuss the shipping payment options
It does not take effect till August 1st. You can sign up however at RTX this year for Double Gold if you wish starting July 1st
They will be releasing a Q&A later, they wanted to get input from the community so they know which questions need the most attention and what needs more explanation.
