Dragonkin boy's dream : Part 2
The usual pride that usually shone blindingly out of this young man had all but stayed on his shoulder on this moment, causing the forest witch to feel somewhat guilty for asking him the question in the first place yet he wants so badly to understand Katsuki's anger.
Katsuki rolled his muscular shoulder before glancing at Izuku. "Do you really want to know?"
Izuku thought to himself for a moment. And he nods.
Having a barbarian warrior facing you is akin to face a fully matured lion with it's mane making it even bigger as it overshadows your shape and size. But Izuku, as a much smaller person, isn't as much as flinching as Katsuki turns to fully face him.
Katsuki himself was quite impressed at how calm the smaller witch is looking at him, it even reminds him at how his mother would look at him when he hurt himself during his childhood. The feeling keeps him more relaxed given the topic he is about to elaborate.
"First off, you're damned if you cut me off before I finished"
Izuku raise an eyebrow but nods understandingly nonetheless at the obvious empty threat.
"Second, you're a lone dweller so you might not understand this as a bigger picture"
Again, Izuku nods but with a slight smile this time.
"I'm supposed to be the next tribe leader"
Izuku gasped, his hands quickly covered his gaping mouth as Katsuki glared a warning at him.
"But I-I'm just seventeen years old! I still want to go around exploring the whole damn world! I don't want to fucking settle down with an omega that's given to me like, what the fuck kind of stagnant lifestyle is that? But of course my older friends wouldn't trade that life for nothing!! Said 'steady life is the best for people like us', MY ASS!" Katsuki snarled and Izuku slightly flinches.
"S-sorry" Katsuki blurted out.
"It's okay" Izuku gently whispered.
Relieved, Katsuki continued "Oh and did I mention omega?"
"Right, yeah, well. Human books call us 'barbarians' but we actually call ourselves "azeekin" - "
Izuku shoot his index finger with his lips pursed, eyes wide.
Katsuki rolls his eyes at this little nerd "Yeah, go on" he gestured.
"I have been sending out my own writings about people of your kind! Yours is dragonkin, yes? Since you're closely related to dragons and inherit their fiery power! But...the publishers in human cities find my books ridiculous and none of them ever agreed to publish it..."
Katsuki scoffed "Of course, they're HUMANS, what do you expect? They think their logic and knowledge is beyond other race's abilities" He crossed his arms in front of his chest as he looked down with similar gloom earlier. "and that's why my tribe sees me fit to be the next leader. I'm quite powerful, they thought maybe I could teach a lesson or two"
Izuku slowly reached out his hand, resting on Katsuki's lower arm. "But you don't want it, do you, my dear?"
"it's stupid. But they don't know it's so goddamn stupid! Because they never went out of their land to witness the world as it is!!"
"Humans are such a warmongering race. They're never satisfied with what they have, constantly trying to one up others when they spot slight differences or flaws from other nations. Their neverending wars sickened me because it does NOTHING!" Katsuki exhaled.
"And to be part of one of the race that seconded on all that war...ugh" Katsuki idly took some dried herbs, toying it in his hands.
Izuku's hands unexpectedly join his, gentle as he always is, hold Katsuki's hands in his.
"What makes you love the outer world so, pray tell?"
Katsuki's eyes shot up to look at him before he looked away again.
"It's rather.....ridiculous, really"
