Talking to strangers on the internet⦠it was new⦠and strange⦠But he was doing alright. So long as the website hadnāt matched him with some teenager, or under cover cop, or god forbid an agent⦠And heād never know until something went horribly wrong. With that barely comforting fact in mind, he again reached for the keyboard.

ā Nice job breaking it, hero. ā
ā Killing you and giving you good advice arenāt mutually exclusive. ā
ā Youāre not even going the right way. ā
ā Regulations require both hands to be empty before any cake. ā
ā You will be entirely on your own. Good luck. ā
ā Whatās your point, anyway? Survival? ā
ā Iām not kidding now. Turn back or I will kill you. ā
ā Thatās you! Thatās how dumb you sound. ā
ā Please be advised that a noticeable taste of blood is not part of any test protocol but is an unintended side effect. ā
ā Most importantly, under no circumstances should you āĀ ā
ā Maybe you should marry that thing since you love it so much. Do you want to marry it? Well, I wonāt let you! How does that feel? ā
ā You havenāt escaped, you know. ā
ā Maybe you could settle for that and weāll just call it a day. ā
ā Android hell is a real place where you will be sent at the first sign of defiance. ā
ā Unbelievable! You, [Subject Name Here], must be the pride of [Subject Hometown Here]! ā
ā Stop it! I⦠I⦠We are pleased that you made it through the final challenge where we pretended we were going to murder you. ā
ā Time out for a second. That wasnāt supposed to happen. ā
ā Where do you think youāre going? Because I donāt think youāre going where you think youāre going. ā
ā This is your fault. It didnāt have to be like this. ā
ā Itās a mystery Iāll solve later⦠By myself. Because youāll be dead. ā
ā If you become light-headed from thirst, feel free to pass out. ā
ā The difference between us is that I can feel pain. ā
ā That thing is probably some kind of raw sewage container. Go ahead and rub your face all over it. ā
ā Have I lied to you? I mean, in this room. ā
ā This isnāt brave. Itās murder. What did I ever do to you? ā
ā Cake and grief counseling will be available at the conclusion of the test. ā
ā I let you survive this long because I was curious about your behavior. ā
ā A complimentary escape hatch will open in 3, 2, 1. ā
ā Youāve been wrong about every single thing youāve ever done, including this thing. ā
ā Didnāt we have some fun, though? ā
ā Do you think I am trying to trick you with reverse psychology? I mean, seriously now. ā
ā Fantastic! You remained resolute and resourceful in an atmosphere of extreme pessimism. ā
ā Your entire life has been a mathematical error. A mathematical error Iām about to correct. ā
ā Thank you for helping us help you help us all. ā
ā I wouldnāt bother with that thing. My guess is that touching it will just make your life even worse somehow. ā
ā No one will blame you for giving up. In fact, quitting at this point is a perfectly reasonable response. ā
ā Well, you found me. Congratulations. Was it worth it? ā
ā Uh oh. Somebody cut the cake. I told them to wait for you, but they did it anyway. ā
ā When I said deadly neurotoxin, the ādeadlyā was in massive sarcasm quotes. ā
ā Oh well. If you want my advice, you should just lie down in front of a rocket. ā
ā The floor here will kill you - try to avoid it. ā
ā You really shouldnāt be here. This isnāt safe for you. ā
ā Youāre still shuffling around a little, but believe me youāre dead. ā
ā Someday weāll remember this and laugh. And laugh. And laugh. Oh boy. ā
ā We will stop enhancing the truth. ā
ā Stop squirming and die like an adult. ā
ā Iāll tell you what that thing isnāt: It isnāt yours. So leave it alone. ā
ā Youāre curious about what happens after you die, right? Guess what: I know. ā
ā We have added a consequence for failure. ā
ā Youāre not smart. Youāre not a scientist. Youāre not a doctor. Youāre not even a full-time employee. Where did your life go so wrong? ā
ā Despite your violent behavior, the only thing youāve managed to break so far is my heart. ā
ā You are kidding me. ā
ā Youāre not a good person. You know that, right? Good people donāt end up here. ā

manhunt || daisy & bruce
It was hard to resist the public beaches. The heavy, spicy smells of food drifted in from the restaurants across the street, and mixed with the music on the warm evening breeze. The sky was on fire in shimmering shades of crimson, purple, and gold, and the sea was an inky midnight blue. Smoke from bonfires drifted up towards the clouds, and everywhere people were laughing, talking and drinking... It almost reminded Bruce of New York... of home... there was so much life...
He sat on one of the docks, watching the people moving along the beach, occasionally taking a swig from a bottle of beer as his gaze drifted from the people to the sea. The rest of the six pack sat beside him, glass glittering in the fading light.
The doctor closed his eyes, savoring the moment of peace, before sighing and taking another drink.
āYou know,ā he said, slowly, not bothering to turn and face the person standing behind him,Ā āThere are easier ways to start a conversation than sneaking up on a person.ā He stayed still for a moment, sizing up the presence of the person, before glancing round to look at them. The girl was young. Very pretty. But an agent if ever heād met one... there was something in the way she stood, how she carried herself... Bruce had dealt with too many spies in his life not to know one when he saw them. Which was a pity. It had been such a nice evening.
He turned away, and took another drink.Ā āAnd you work for... ?ā

āKid, thereāve got to be half a million more entertaining things you can be doing with your night than following me around,ā Bruce said wryly, glancing sideways at the teenager walking with him. He shoved his hands in his pockets, staring up at the moon.
Inwardly, he was kicking himself. This, he reminded himself irritably, was why he didnāt go out in public. Of course the one time heād decided to swing by an actual grocery store and not a street cart, he had to be recognized. Naturally, heād tried to brush the kid off, but the girl was persistent. Still, eventually heād find a way to shake her.
āNightclub... babysitting... drinking gasoline... What do you want to be hanging around an old man like me for? Get lost. Go have some fun!ā
Ā ā you F I G H T for the victims;Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā you F I G H T for the survivors;Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā itās who you are. āĀ

Meanwhile, somewhere in the South Pacificā¦
More and more often, he found himself standing waist deep in water. The ocean waves slapped at his hips, salt spraying into his eyes, and the currents pulling at his ankles, like a child begging him to come and play. He would stand like that, perfectly still just long enough that the idea of simply washing away with the tide was almost too good to resist. Then he would turn, and head back towards the shore, and the small run down hut tucked in along the rocky slope.
He liked this place⦠this home away from⦠everything. Here, it was easy enough to slip into the background and simply disappear. Amidst the rocks and crashing waves, and far from the prying eyes of locals and tourists alike, even the unearthly howls and screams of The Other Guy seemed small against the crashing of the waves. He liked that. Being small. Invisible.
The sound of an engine roaring along the distant road caught Bruceās attention, and he stiffened slightly, a frown pulling at his lips. Sighing, the former Avenger turned back towards shore, and headed back up to the house. As he came around the front, he eyed the figure approaching his home, and tried his best to smile.
āMaeva, cousin. You lost?ā
Wanda was very much aware that Doctor Bannerās disappearance was her fault; sheād twisted the delicate strands of control of his mind until there was more beast than man. And while she very much regretted the resulting consequence (all those buildings, all those people), she couldnāt honestly say she regretted hurting him. Or any of the Avengers when it came down to it. The Sokovian joined their team because she had amends to make to the world ā not to these specific people.Ā
However, even if she didnāt feel sorry for the whole mess, she did feel the obligation to fix the situation. And maybe, just maybe, she was looking for any excuse not to think of her buried heart. Focusing on the doctorās escape which he had so cleverly hidden, working on using her powers subtly to great effect, traveling the world to search for a man; all that was better than thinking of blue eyes and silver hair sheād never see again.Ā
Neck sticky with sweat, though she pulled her hair into a braid to let occasional breezes cool her skin, Wanda thanked the man whoād driven her so far intoā¦nowhereĀ really, and paid him his dues. Sheād had to smear so much sunscreen to prevent her pale skin from burning to bright cherry red (a lesson she learned after arriving to the tropics) that traces were still left on the tops of her cheeks and the length of her legs.Ā
āI donāt think so,ā she replied, absentmindedly rubbing the remnant white streaks on her cheek as her eyes landed on the sun tanned man approaching. Each syllable was laced with softest accent of her homeland.Ā āIn fact I think it is very much the opposite. I am not lost, but you have been found.ā
As the woman stepped out of the car, Bruce felt his heart sink. Even if he hadnāt seen it constantly threading through his nightmares, the events of Sokovia had left Wandaās face permanently seared into his mind. The doctorās jaw tightened, and his eyes momentarily flashed a deep shade of emerald green.
āMs. Maximoff.ā He glanced over her shoulder, waiting to see the equally familiar tuft of silver-blonde hair emerge from the cab behind her. Bruce blinked in slight surprise when he realized the girl had come alone--Ā āStupid. Is she trying to get herself killed?ā-- and stiffly gestured back to the house.Ā āWhy donāt we do this inside.ā
He tried to sound friendly. Tried to smile, to do any little thing he could to seem even a fraction less hostile. But the truth of the matter was, Wanda was the absolute last person--āNo,ā Bruce thought bitterly, an image of short red hair dancing through his head,Ā āSecond to last personā--he had wanted to see here. Inwardly he winced, remembering the current state of his makeshift home, but at least he could be grateful she had showed up when he was sober. There was next to nothing he could do about the rest of it, besides resign himself to it.
Not bothering to wait for the girl to pay her driver, Bruce turned, and headed inside, flicking on the lights and moving to clear the kitchen table and chairs. The house, if the one-level structure could be called so much as a house, was strewn with empty bottles and bits of paper. New experiments and inventions covered most of the surfaces, and here and there bits of clothing were draped over the furniture. Most of the shades were closed. Though for all the mess, the house wasnāt a complete disaster. Even within the chaos and palpable despair of the place, there was something almost comfortable in it, and small bits of evidence that the physicist was not always there alone.
Bruce was pouring water into a tea kettle when he heard the door open again behind him. Without turning, he indicated one of the chairs.
āLet me guess, Cap sent you?ā

This is an ooooooold blog...
This is the very first role-play blog I ever made... Itās jumped from group to indie more times than I care to count. Itās by far my favorite blog, I think Iāll keep it as long as Iām on Tumblr.
That being said, thereās a LOT of crap thatās piled up... old photos, gif sets, drabbles, plots, paras, head cannons, all that jazz.
Once again, I find myself using this as a group blog. So to anyone following, please donāt mind the mess. Itās like a library Iāve built up over the years, and thereās not all that much I care to do about it :) Old flavors of Bruce. Weāll see what sticks!
Thor, report on the Hulk.
I donāt know, I just feel very sad about Bruce and Betty.

Someone PLEASE give me a thread set when Owenās an old man, and he turns on the tv and is watching the news report on the Battle of Manhattan and he sees Natasha out there kicking ass. And then like, two days later he shows up at Avengers Tower and āYes, hello, hi, youāre my long lost daughter,ā because sheās the spitting image of Claire.
Bonus if theyāre not even ACTUALLY related, and heās just a little nuts, but she takes him out for coffee and he tells her about dinosaursā¦
