thank you for getting back to me hehe, i’m so excited to work on my project, just wanted to know how do you give your projects so much structure?? regarding the spear and the snakes how do i make them sturdy? as well as the hair and headpiece. how do you make sure what elements of a character you wanna incorporate and is there any planning you do before you start? i’m sorry for asking these many questions but i was curious! thank you again so much i appreciate it a lot!!! :))

-To give the amigurumi/snake/spear structure or sturdiness
Galvanized wires #18 is always my savior! Just think of them as a skeleton or a foundation to your project. I always insert galvanized wires in the amigurumi's legs and arms, weapons, and bendable objects. I recommend to make a skeleton first so you can determine how long the object should be. Then insert the wire while crocheting the amigurumi and stuff it with fiber fill along the way (though I do not stuff the weapon with fiber fill).
There are tons of tutorials for crocheting hair on YouTube :) I follow the standard method which is to create a big circle that is big enough to cover the head, make chains as the strands and fill it up with sc, hdc, and dc (it really depends on you but I prefer to sl st to give the strand a pointy look, 2 sc, 2 hdc, dc all on the remaining chains, and sl st on the circle to secure it). It is important to crochet with normal/loose tension to avoid the curling of strands (unless the character has curly hair, use a tight tension).
It is important to breakdown the design first since Messmer the Impaler's headpiece is really detailed.
Sorry for the low quality visuals but this is how I breakdown the design if it feels overwhelming. Just focus on creating the base first, and add the details after. This part will have tons of trial and error so don't give up :) Don't be afraid to restart if it doesn't look right.
I usually research the personality of the character to decide what elements I should add to show their story/personality via crochet. After planning, I make stickman doodles on my phone before starting a project.

I know that we always want to add all the characters' details as much as possible. But it is important to simplify it to avoid the cluttered look.
