chris and jess hanging a mistletoe above the entrance to the kitchen and when randy walks under it they laugh and mock him telling him he cant move until someone else walks under it and gives him a big ol kiss lucky for randy who is both seething and embarrassed there isn't anyone else on shift
until bensons car pulls into the parking lot and randy can't help the spark of nervousness that jumps starts his heart causing randy to sweat and breathing to pick up all while Jess and Chris joke about wh should release randy from under the mistletoe both saying how gross or Jess isn't desperate enough for that.
The door rings as it opens and chris and jess watch with silent anticipation as benson doesnt even glance at them heads towards the back and while hes back there chris and jess start snickering and randy wishes he could make himself move he even begs them to just forget it please hell do their cleaning task they can leave early please please
but its too late and benson briefly pauses in front of randy curious why hes standing there looking like hes about to pass out before simply brushing past him to get stopped by yells and hollering as chris and jess call him back and explain that he walked under mistletoe its Christian cmon benson look at the kid hes just dying to kiss you dont ya feel bad for him so desperate and ra dy could die right here and hed be fine with that
and benson only turns to look at randy face neutral and hiding whatever hes thinking and randy can only look him in the eye for a moment before letting it flicker to his shirt fists clenched so tight he knows hes broken the skin and benson just keeps staring until he reachs his arm up and rips the mistletoe off the wall and drops it at the others feet walking away as they boo and tell him hes no fun and randy could cry from relief taking in shaky breaths and quickly running to the back hiding in the rows trying to calm the rapid beating of his heart its only then he feels the tiniest bit of .. Disappointment.
hes not sure why did he want benson to kiss him ... no... well ...no.. maybe if it wasn't for a joke that's ridiculous and he ends up back there longer than he thought cause benson is now standing in front of him arms crossed and head tilted and time seems to slow eventually benson asks him simply if hes okay. and when he gives a nod benson still doesn't move. till he asks if what they were saying was true that he wanted to kiss him. Which has randy scrambling to answer brain rapid firing with to many emotions and benson is fucking smiling at him before he just shakes his head and tells him they have to finish closing.
The rest of the tasks go smoothly both working silently until bensons locking the doors and they are walking towards their cars randy staring at the ground the entire time. He shoots out a quick bye trying tk rush into his car and just let this day end when benson grabs his arm. Pulling him back and straight into a kiss that has his heart soaring. Benson pulling away saying something about not wanting bad holiday luck or whatever and patting randys shoulder before getting into his car and driving away
and all randy can do is stand there touching his lips that still warm and tingling
