Ban Routine Infant Circumcision

Especially if you’re circumcised

“Babies can’t consent” is not an excuse for circumcision, it is the reason against it.

I was deep in thought last night, I came to the conclusion that in comparison if I were not able to taste food but I can still digest I am missing out on the the experience of tasting and enjoying my food! So me being Circumcised is similar as yes I was fortunate that I can achieve an orgasm, but I am not getting to experience the full sensation and pleasure of being intact! I have been denied the full sexual experience that I was born with! I feel this is pretty accurate as a function vs experience why are we still preforming this barbaric practice?!?

I’ve heard a lot about how circumcision is mutilation and that you should wait until the boy is old enough to decide for himself and I’m like… Thank god my parents made that decision for me. Perhaps it was torture, but I have zero memory of it, and the benefits of not having that extra skin far outweigh the cons. It would be far worse if I had decided to undergo the procedure as an adult and had every memory of it.

One of the risks is death. You could have died being circumcised. Do the benefits really outweigh the risks?

I’m pretty sure an adult deciding to be circumcised could also decide to be anesthetized for the process, and thus not remember it…

Especially considering recent research showing that anesthesia doesn’t really work on infants.

It may be unpleasant for a bit, but it’s really just some unnecessary extra skin and it’ll look better afterwards and it’ll be easier to avoid infection. The boy will be fine without it. Yes, there might be a slight risk of death with circumcision, but there’s risk in everything really.

Every medical procedure, especially when babies are involved, includes a certain degree of risk. But just because a precious few infant boys die, while tragic, from this procedure does not make it bad. I had the procedure done when I was an infant and my life is perfectly normal. And for the record, it isn’t as if my orgasms are horrible. If you wouldn’t circumcise your son’s penis, fine, but I have the right to make health care decisions for my own son.

why risk anything at all for 0 benefits and not as good sex?

It gives him a penis that looks like that of other boys, and of his father, which will I’m sure be a comfort that he doesn’t look abnormal. Plus it makes it easier for me to wash, and let’s be real, anything that means I have to spend less time handling another male’s dick when he’s in the bath is something worth looking into. Lol.
