“Oh, Jake, we need you back at the booth. Beomgyu just threatened to punt a kid.” Heeseung rattled off the sentence without a second thought, making y/n chuckle at the imagery, which Jake thought was good considering she hadn’t been very vocal about his actions so far, not that he really gave her a chance to speak.

“Give me one second hee.” Jake said, nudging his head towards y/n, hoping heeseung would get the message. Heeseung just waved him off,

“Don’t take too long, with your new girl,” he said, walking away, leaving the end of his words to quiet for y/n to hear.

“can i have your number! i swear i’ll make more sentence soon, i promise im not weird.” jake said pleading sounding like an absolute weirdo, fortunately for jake, y/n likes the trait.

“Sure!” is all y/ns mind could come up with, pinching herself for not coming up with something better, but when Jake holds out his phone for her to enter her number, she's quick.

Taehyuns tips have been working, for the most part; moreover, the last one because y/n hasn't been able to think all day. They've been busy since the park opened at 10am. Well, busy enough that y/n also has time to look around the window and spot Kai and Jake handing out mini fishing poles to kids, in their stupid yellow polos that Jake somehow managed to make hot, so hot in fact that it was burning her eyes. The glare from the sun reminded y/n that she hadn't gone on her break yet.

"Do you think you can handle the beast all by yourself?" she asked, looking over to Lily, who was leaning against the desk. "Cause I'm gonna go on my break." y/n was about to poke her until she waved her hand in front of y/n's face.

"Go be free enough for the both of us!" Lily dramatically threw her head back before looking back out the window to remember that there was no line, no one wanted anything from her, and she would be okay.

Taking her time to walk to the staff lounge, y/n let the cool wind flow through her damp hair, causing a chill down her spine. She passes by Beongyu's booth, who had his hands full of crying children screaming over a stuffed octopus. y/n finally reached her destination and found she's alone in the neon green room. Going to the back she pulls out one of the chairs from the table, putting her headphones on when someone rushes through the door, making y/n stare up through her lashes. She sees Jake, who's staring back at her.

"y/n right?" he said as the door behind him closed shut.

TAGLIST (open!!)

Running down the stairs, y/n was surprised that she didn’t trip over herself. Grabbing the first pair of sneakers she could find, bending down to slip them on, y/n got lost in her own thoughts as she tied her laces. Should I wear a tank top instead? Thinking of how hot she’s getting now, just thinking about the summer. Which she looked forward to, no matter how much her friends tried to scare her away from the ticket booth, it couldn’t be that bad, could it? Maybe Taehyun was right about forgetting where you are because she’s too excited about the fact that she’ll get to work with her friends the whole summer that she even forgot about why she’ll be there, too busy caught in the thought of a cute aussie boy working the same booth as beomgyu and Kai maybe she’ll talk to him this summer, or maybe he’ll come up to her and confess his secret desire for her. That made y/n laugh at herself, knowing that would never happen. The sound of someone holding down their car horn made y/n come back to reality, knowing exactly who it was, she didn’t hurry to grab her things to head out.

“Are you going deaf or something? I’ve been blasting the horn for a solid 5 minutes!” Beomgyu said, leaving out the passenger side window. Y/n saw from where she stood that he wore a thick, baggy t-shirt.

“Are you an idiot? Did you not read the forecast today? You're going to die of sweat.” Y/n said using her and motioned at Beomgyu to move so she could sit in the front seat, ‘y/n’s spot’ read a little sticker on the passenger side airbag. Ever since Beomgyu got a car in high school, he’s always driven both her and Lily to and from school every single day. Not much has changed except maybe that he’s grown a little taller.

“No, I actually used my genie to transfer all my sweat to you !” Rebuckling his belt, Beomgyu gave y/n a mischievous smile, looking at Lily sitting in the back seat through the mirror, making fake gagging sounds.

“Disgusting!” Lily said, rolling down her window as she stared daggers at Beomgyu. “Nasty.” She murmured.

"So, do you know where they trapped you, or is it a surprise?" y/n asked Beomgyu as he began to drive. It wasn't gonna be a long drive to the amusement park, but it was long enough to get her nerves buzzing.

"No, I'm back in the fishing game again, same with Kai, and your boyfriend!" Beomgyu said, turning to look at y/n when they stopped at a red light, making his voice go up a couple of octaves as he said that last part. "Maybe this could be the summer you finally speak to him!" he added, poking her in the side.

"Stop it!" y/n's eyes flickered from Beomgyu to Lily in the back seat. "And I'll let it be known for the record that I have spoken to him," y/n said, turning away from both of her friends to stare at the window as she saw the large Ferris wheel come into view.

"Saying excuse me after he pumped into you doesn't count!" Lily sat up in her seat.

"Oh, it so does!" y/n responded. As Beomgyu pulled into the overrun parking lot.

Orientation lasted an hour and a half, but to y/n it felt like 5 minutes, yeonjun and soobin took there group on a tour around the park grounds showing them where all the extra plush prizes are, or for y/n all the extra ride and game tickets are, taking down a mental note of how its one of the few air conditioned places that would most likely be empty on a normal day. However, trying to keep track of things was getting a little difficult, considering the 5'9 boy standing about six feet away from her was clouding up her mind. Jake was wearing a basic pair of jeans and a white t-shirt, and y/n never wished for it to rain more than she did right now.

"So this is it, huh?" Lily spoke, looking at the little shack that read TICKETS, making y/n remember what the future has in store for her.

"It's." She paused, "Exactly what I thought it would look like." y/n finished, making Beomgyu and a couple of the other boys in the group laugh.

"Hey, you should be nice, we got this brand new booth just for the two of you!" Yeonjun said, leaning against the bright white shack.

"Ah, so you're saying this one hasn't claimed any souls yet?" Lily said, folding her arms over her chest. Yeonjun shakes his head in disappointment as he mutters something to himself before he opens the booth's door to let the girls in.

"So we' re fresh meat," y/n replied, being the first sacrifice of the ricket booth. It was cute for about five seconds, and then she started to remember how tiny it really was. It had a small cash box, a card reader, and probably thousands of rolls of tickets waiting to be ripped. "Do you think they'll drag me back here if I start running?" She turned in her stool to meet Lily's eyes.

"They won't, but I will," Lily said, giving y/n a smile that showed too many teeth.

"Also forgot to tell you about the microphones, there are two," Yeonjun said, peeking his head back into the booth, pointing at two little red and white buttons. "One is in the booth, and the other is outside. You can turn the inside one on and off, but it's better to leave the outside one on at all times!" Before either of them could ask any questions, Yeonjun walked away and was replaced by a pink-cheeked Yunjin.

"Soobin said we could leave, so do you guys wanna go grab lunch? Oh my god, how is it already boiling in here!" Yunjin said, entering the booth before quickly leaving as fast as she came in.

"Oh my god, finally, I'm starving!" Lily said, clawing her way out of her seat.

The three of them caught up to Beomgyu and Soobin, who had decided to join them, instead of staying back to do work with Yeonjun. Looking around, y/n noticed something was off,

"Hey wheres heuning kai?" She looked at Beomgyu, who rolled his eyes in response, before getting in the car.

"I'll push you out of the car if you bring him up again," Beomgyu said in a low voice as the rest of them got situated in their seats.

"Beomgyu, what did we establish? You can't threaten our friends when we're behind the wheel." Yunjin said using a motherly tone.

"When have we ever established that?" turning around in his seat to playfully yell at Yunjin.

heeseung: has decided to finally work at the park just so he can see his friends. will laugh at jay any chance he gets. works at the game booth across the way from jake

jay: all the guys go to him for advice, for some reason. likes to cook for the group. has managed to become a security guard for the park grounds.

sunghoon: kind, quiet, likes spending his time alone or with the rest of the 02z while he stares off into space. He didn't apply for the job, but he was put with Jay and is now a security guard.

jungwon: knows everyone, everyone knows him. The mastermind behind the scenes, is working with Sunoo and Yunjin at the concession stand

sunoo: the social butterfly, knows everyone's deep, dark secrets that they haven't told him, second year working the concession stand selling popcorn and little sugar donuts

ni-ki: the only one not working anywhere, he just loves to spend his time, money, and energy tormenting his friends!
