I proudly present two fanfictions that made me like children:

Prince Among Wolves by Rawren 2013

This is so sweet, I swear. One of my first Sterek fanfics, and let’s be real Sterek is the only reason I watched Teen Wolf (not to offend anyone, if you like it, that’s fine!)

Summary from AO3: “Looking for full day/evening sitter. 2 twin boys age 4. Must have exp. w/werewolves. Must be human. No pedophiles. No teenage girls. Pay negotiable.“

This is basically all you need to know. Derek is a grumpy dad, Stiles is relatable af. Both characters nicely executed.

Derek works with wolves, Stiles is a kindergarten teacher, and then they meet. Bam. Love.

How do I even start on this?

Bend Around the Wind is the first longfic I remember reading. To this day, I’ve read it multiple times whenever I felt like some good Marvel content. Especially after the movies started to get darker.

Well, here’s the summary from AO3:

“ A few months after the battle of New York the God Loki appears back on Stark Tower under chaotic circumstances. This time however he is on the run. Tony Stark gets caught up in the crossfire and is taken along with the Aesir. Can the two of them ever make truce in order to get away? And even if they do, how does one escape from such a dark corner of the universe, when they are so very far away from the Nine Realms, that not even Loki knows the way back home. But first, they need to survive.”

So yeah, it’s set after the events of the first Avengers movie, and diverts from canon of mostly all MCU movies that came out afterwards.

You can consider this a roadfic in space. It’s great.

Amazing relationship build-up, interesting OCs, great comedy moments that feel like they could’ve been taken straight out of MCU’s comic relief itself. And don’t even get me started on all the character background that’s perfectly integrated into the main plot.

If pirates in space sound appealing to you, definitely give it a read! I know FrostIron is practically dead at this point but I still love this ship, so fight me. (please don’t fight me)

I’m a sucker for anything reed900 related.

No other fanfic in this fandom (I’ve read so far) is this complicated and amazing, and I’m at a loss for words when I think back to my first time reading this.

I highly recommend completely ignoring the tags (unless you’re avoiding certain things for whatever reason) bc that’s what I did. I went into this thinking oh hey, another slow burn, hate to love kinda thing, and oh, was I wrong. Shit goes down. And it isn’t a simple read, either - the author explores psychology and fear, making use of subtle hints in one paragraph and writes brutally real and unadorned in the next. So if that’s not your cup of tea, maybe skip this read.

If you are into creepy stuff and psychological horror - go for it.

“Gavin Reed, a mess of a human being, just wants to be left to his self destructive tendencies. RK900, an android designed by the most brilliant minds in the world to be the perfect machine, is desperate to grasp the full range of emotional freedom now afforded to him. a classic. I first read this fanfic when I didn’t really know/care about BTS and KPOP in general so I had the chance of enjoying well-written characters without being biased in any way (ha, get it?)...

Get ready for a 256k word adventure that takes you back to the era of piracy and into a world of fantastic elements.

Official summary quoted from AO3:

“In a world where dominance of the sea is an endless battle between pirates and mariners, Park Jimin is content living in his little village on a small, uninteresting island by the eastern mainland. He wants nothing to do with the bloodshed of good and evil, the heartless killing of both innocents and condemned, the constant establishment and disruption of order. What he wants is peace, to live his life in the same town he was born in, to spend his days in the beautiful forest, and to use the powers of his Blessed Rune to nurture the home he loves so dearly.

I’m not joking when I say this: everyone should read this story.

It’s so well-written, the descriptions are super detailed and the overall feel you get from this story is something else. The strongest aspect is definitely the plot, though. Dude, the plot.

In some parts there are some writing errors (which I will talk about in detail in my review post) but srsly, you could completely ignore those and call me petty.

I should also mention it’s rated E and there are some graphic descriptions of violence.
