Scene - Haemon & Bambi - 4/7
“An eternal optimist then? Or a forceful optimist rather. I’ll give you your due for having the will to punch through like that,” Haemon replied with a quirk of a smile. “I’m…not that sort of spirit I suppose.” He laughed and gave an easy shrug. “Running keeps me sane, especially in New York. Only time I can even remotely feel alone in that city is when I’m doing laps.” Oh but was that blush not the cutest thing. The Dom winked. “Noticed that have you?” he asked with a coy note to his voice. “Good. I’d hate for the effort to go to waste.”
He listened intently to the other boy, enjoying the ease of the conversation and how bright Bambi seemed to make the place. Bubbly was a perfect way to describe the sub. He chuckled, shaking his head lightly. “Nothing special? Oh I believe that’s quite contrary to popular opinion my dear. There’s a lot of cherubic talking going around.” He perked up at the sound of his phone and moved towards the oven. “Have you recovered after our cruise? I swear, for a while after, I was so lethargic.”
“Eternal, I think. I just always feel like every day has potential. This probably sound really lame, I’m a dork.” Bambi chuckled, shaking his head at himself. “You can always try to improve your mindset, if you really wanted, Sir!” He suggested, thinking of a list of ways. He listened as Haemon spoke, he definitely knew what it was like to feel passionate about something. His nose scrunched as the Dom winked again, his hands moving up to cover his face. After a few soft giggles, his hands dropped again. “It’s most definitely not going to waste; even if I weren’t appreciating it, I’m sure someone is.”
Bambi enjoyed Haemon’s company, it was nice to just sit down and have small talk. He felt very adult-like throughout it all, though he never really acted like an adult. “Oh?” He furrowed his brows and tilted his head in mock confusion. “I’m the talk of the town, am I?” He blushed again, his cheeks heating up. Sometimes he hated how easily he became flushed and how obvious it made him. “You know how sometimes after a concert you kind of just want to be back in that atmosphere and around those people? That’s how I felt afterwards. But of course, I’ve grown used to being in school again.” He sighed dramatically, tucking a curl behind his ear.
