Nancy saying Steve knows what he wants is insane, Steve hasn't had any direction in his life at all since high school, he just has his vague insane future dream scenario of having six kids and a winnebago.

And actually I am always thinking about Steve fighting Billy because Steve obviously even by that point is the one who deserves to be an older brother, and he takes on that role in the fight, a defensive role, but then he loses, he can't even win a fight but the older sibling role isn't actually about winning fights? It's about saying no matter what happens I am the first line of defence it will have to go through me first? That is the real job? And so even though Steve loses he's still taking on that older brother role because he's still there
