Persephone ~Sneak Peek on a Yoga/ Performance Wear/ Lingerie collection I'm starting~ Persephone was the Queen of the Underworld and Daughter of Demeter, Goddess of the Harvest. If you recall her story, Hades, God of the Underworld, falls in love with her and steals her away. Her mother is sent into depression and the world falls into winter. The story ends with the 2 "sharing her" and Persephone is in the underworld half the year and then back on earth the other half. The inspiration behind this new collection I'm starting is how it must of felt for Persephone to come back above ground for the first time. Imagine being stuck in the Underworld, never knowing if you'll see home again. Then imagine taking your first breath back on the surface. How there would still be snow and coldness, but to see life emerging again after being in the world of the dead. I bet those first breaths tasted like liquid gold. I wanted to have include beautiful floral patterns for the oncoming spring,but still kind of keep it dark and gothy because hey, she is the new queen of the underworld.
