“I wouldn’t say often, but it’s something fun Grace and I put on with a little wine from time to time. I much prefer watching those celebrity dancing shows, but she and Archer watch those together now,” she explained, trying not to sound bitter because she was beyond happy for her best friend, but sometimes she missed their little traditions that weren’t as frequent now that Grace had more people to divide her time in between. “You’d sign yourself up for it? No way! I could not imagine you on a reality show like that but now that you’ve said that I want nothing more that to see that come to fruition,” Laurel grinned back, already imagining the entertainment that would be provided if Bailey had made her debut on a show like that. “You can say that again. Maybe that’s your next calling? To start a reality show for queer people that isn’t a total piece of commercial shit?”

"You sound thrilled at the fact that she watches them with her boyfriend now.” Bailey couldn’t help but tease, “Not a fan of him, are we?” She couldn’t help but ask, not really knowing the others roommate all that well and even less acquainted with Grace’s boyfriend. “But if you want to watch those dancing shows with me, I’m happy to give them ago. Though if it puts me in the mood to go salsa dancing or something, you will be the one I drag along.” Bailey scoffed at the other as she didn’t seem to believe that she would sign herself up for a queer version of this dating show. “Hey, I’d be everyone’s fan favorite if I went on a show like this. The troublemaker. The girl who spices it up from time to time.” Bailey told the other with a smirk, wondering if she’d get more action on a show like that then she would be getting now. “Maybe it is. Though it does seem like far too much hard work so maybe I could sell my idea onto Netflix or something.” 

Alice laughed, “I appreciate you ha-having my back in that re-regard,” she joked. She raised an eyebrow, “A c-career change? What were y-you thinking of changing t-too?” She asked. Perhaps it was the alcohol but Alice was having no trouble making conversation with the woman despite not speaking much before, “I h-haven’t? I find th-that hard to believe.”

“You’re welcome.” Bailey smiled at the other, “Someone mentioned to me not that long ago that I would be a good Quidditch coach and I loved playing it at school, I’m the captain of my roller derby team, I feel like it could be something I’d enjoy.” Bailey told the other with a small smile, not wanting to get her hopes up about a potential change in job just yet. “You may find it hard to believe, but doesn’t mean it’s not true.”

“It does?” Alice asked, “Re-Remind me to never work at H-Honeydukes,” she joked and then smiled brightly, “It’s nice to meet you t-too! So you w-work at H-Honeydukes, wh-what’s that like?” She started making conversation with the woman and it just kept going. Alice enjoyed meeting new people so it was easy for her to keep the conversation going. Before she knew it, the countdown was about to start, “O-Oh shoot. H-Has it been that l-long already?” She asked, looking down at her watch and then smiling apologetically back up at the other, “S-Sorry. I’ve probably k-kept you from someone.”

“Just a little, there’s only so many sugar mice you can see before you start to not be able to stand the sight of them.” Bailey commented, chuckling softly at the others words and nodding. “I promise that if I see a job application with your name on it, I’ll put it straight in the bin.” Bailey only shrugged at the others words, “It’s a job. It doesn’t pay all that well and I have to deal with kids hyped up on sugar, but it could be a lot worse.” Because she had applied around, having no clue on what she wanted to do and took what she could. “Though I might be thinking of changing career paths soon, who knows.” Because Lila conversation about her being a good Quidditch coach would not leave her head. “Looks like it has been.” Bailey commented before waving the other off, “Nah, you haven’t kept me from anyone. Promise.”

“I don’t think there’s ever been a season of this show that I’ve tuned into where anyone on the show was desirable. It feels like it’s a requirement to be a total shallow douche to qualify for The Bachelor,” she grimaced with a little shake of her head. Sometimes reality shows like that were fun trash that was easy to watch and other times she just couldn’t handle the way people threw themselves and behaved like that all for some recognition. “I totally see what you mean about Angelica. Have they ever had a queer season of this show? Because maybe we could get one with Angelica looking for love with some girls. Maybe it would actually be a good watch for the right reasons for once, huh?”

“Wait so you watch this like often? Why would you do that to yourself?” Bailey asked the other, even if she could feel herself getting slowly addicted to the absolute trash that was this show, what could she say, she lived for the drama. “I don’t know, this is still all very new to me. I don’t think I’ve ever voluntarily sat down and watched an episode of it until now. But if there hasn’t been a queer season, there should be and I would one hundred percent sign myself up for it.” Because her dating and romantic life was very bleak currently and this seemed like it could be fun. “Also Angelica is hot.” She added, because if she knew that girl was the bachelorette, she’d be there in a heartbeat. “Oh totally, you don’t see reality shows based around queer people very often, unless they’re being made to look gimmicky or stereotypical which is so not my jam.”

“Good point. Th-This is what I get f-for only drinking su-sugary things tonight,” Alice joked, “Oh y-yeah? I guess I’ll have to tr-try it. I d-don’t get out in the m-muggle world as much a-as I used to,” she explained, “It’s Bailey, right? Y-You’re Bailey. I’m A-Alice.”

“Yeah alcohol is sticky enough to start with, adding sugar on top is just going to get you into a whole other kind of mess.” She chuckled, letting go of the others wrist finally so she could wipe her hand on a napkin to try and get rid of some of the stickiness. “I actually prefer a lot of their snacks more then I do ours, maybe it’s because I’m in Honeydukes nearly everyday and the novelty of it wears off when you work there.” Bailey explained with a shrug before she smiled, “Yeah, I’m Bailey and it’s nice to meet you, Alice.”

Alice laughed, “Sorry, o-of course, yeah,” her eyes trailed from the hand the woman had on her wrist to her face as she drank it, “Papaya!” She exclaimed, “That’s wh-what it is. I couldn’t put m-my finger on it. I got as f-far as tropical. C-Can you taste pineapple in th-there? I wasn’t sure,” she raised an eyebrow, “Lilt? I don’t th-think I’ve ever tried that.”

“It’s alright, just thought I’d save us both from having a shower with something sweet and sticky.” Bailey chuckled lightly. “It has a pretty distinctive taste, but not really a common one so I don’t blame you for not being able to pinpoint it.” Bailey nodded, licking her lips, “It’s very faint, but yeah, I can definitely taste pineapple.” Bailey rose an eyebrow at the other, “It’s a muggle drink, a tropical pop but it’s really refreshing.”

“Thank you!” Lo said to the bartender when he handed her the drinks she got, holding one for Thea too. When she turned, she wasn’t expecting someone to be standing so close behind her and she nearly spilled her drink on them. “Woah, sorry,” she apologized. “I didn’t think you were that close.”

“Shit. No sorry, that’s my bad. I was trying to see what was on the menu and didn’t realize how much I had crept forward.” Bailey apologized, looking between her and the person who almost crashed into her to make sure there wasn’t any drink damage.

Brett let out a laugh, grabbing onto the other’s hand to bring her to the dance floor. “You won’t regret it though,” Brett insisted. “I’ll buy you a drink after this to make up for it.”

“Will I not? Because I feel like making a fool out of myself is something I’d regret.” Bailey told the other, though she still allowed the other to drag her out among the other people dancing to the music. “As you should, I would have been offended if you didn’t offer.”

“Men are just…” Erin trailed off, her tipsy brain trying to come up with the right words. “Something else. I don’t think there’s any point trying to understand them.” She answered, before rolling her eyes. “I’ve been there. If I had a galleon for every time that a guy, immediately after learning I was bisexual, asked if that meant I liked threesomes, well, I wouldn’t be rich, but I’d have a lot of galleons.”

"Stupid? Idiotic? Gross? Need I go on?"  Bailey asked with a flourish of her hand before the other had settled on the notion of men being 'something else'. As the other continued to talk she couldn't help but scrunch up her nose in disgust, "I don't understand why they do that. It's like asking me if they can watch me have sex with another girl. No, you can't. That's creepy and if you don't shut up I'm going to punch you in the dick."

“You so to-totally have to try this!” Alice exclaimed, holding out her drink to the other. She’d probably had too many drinks already but the fancy cocktails made it too easy to drink without feeling like she was drinking alcohol - as she should have predicted, “It’s got a  fruity fl-flavour that I can’t quite p-put my finger on. H-Help me out?”

Bailey looked at the other, not being able to stop herself from chuckling as the other seemed to get progressively more drunk, the more drinks she consumed. “I can only taste it if you hold it steady.” She chuckled, wrapping her hand around the others wrist to stop the drink from spilling onto her as she took a sip. She smacked her lips several times trying to recall the fruit the other mentioned, taking several moments before speaking. “It’s almost tropical. I can definitely taste some mango in there, maybe papaya too? And maybe a little bit of pineapple. Actually it just tastes like a boozy version of Lilt.”

“Did you see that?” Erin asked with a laugh. She hadn’t been drinking last New Years, and she was more than making up for it now. “That’s like, the third girl he’s asked to be his midnight kiss. I get not wanting to miss out, but come one mate, even I’m not that desperate.”

“Oh I saw it and I’ve been seeing a lot of it and I’ve only been here for like over an hour.” Bailey commented, watching as the guy seemed dejected once again about the fact his advances had fallen short. “I’ve already been asked by a handful of men if I could be their midnight kiss too. I had to inform them I was gay and most of them didn’t think that was me telling them no. Men are so weird.”

Brett held out her hand to the other. “Come dance with me!” she insisted. “You know deep down you want to.”

“You should be able to tell from the glasses on my table I’m not nearly drunk enough to dance in public.” Bailey told the other with a chuckle before sighed as the other really did insist. “Alright, alright. Let me just-” She picked up the glass which held some sort of bright green liquid and downed it with a grimace. “Okay, that should keep me going for like two dances. Let’s go.”

“Punishment for getting drunk and living their lives? That’ll go down well,” Lila scoffed. “I am surprised you’re not a coach already, you can do so much better than Honeydukes,” she told her. Bailey was tough and commanding, worth way more than a sweet shop. “I had a pumpkin fight with Han. Took me days to get it out of the carpet,” she groaned. 

“No. Punishment for bitching about their hangovers when it was self inflicted and they knew they had practice the next day.” Bailey commented, because she was all for going out and having a good time, but she didn’t want her teammates to be little babies about it the next day. “I mean it’s not like I haven’t thought about it before, just wasn’t sure if people would listen to me.” She shrugged, because whilst she enjoyed playing Quidditch in school, she didn’t want to do it professionally, but she could see herself coaching. “That sounds like it would be fun in the moment, but I can imagine many regrets being had the next day. You’re always going to have that phantom pumpkin smell.”
