When Frodo's parents died, Bilbo at first didn't want to adopt him. But when he looked in his blue eyes, Thorin's eyes, he immitatly agreed. Sometimes, on very bad days, he imagined that Frodo is his and Thorin's child.

Bagginshield headcanons part 6: Bilbo was very afraid that Dis is going to hate him, but the opposite happened - she loved him, and they became so close like sibling. Thorin found that cute, until they started prank him.
Bagginshield headcanons part 5: During their first argument after BoFA, Bilbo suddenly flinched. When Thorin saw that, he immitatly started apologizing and crying. He wasn't touching Bilbo for the next few days, even tho hobbit told him that he's not afraid. Finally, Dis convience her brother to ,,stop being such an idiot". After that everything returned to normal.

I think that the most terrible period for Bilbo in his journey was the time he spent in the Mountain immediately after Thorin's death and until the moment when he left there. Thorin died, Bilbo's grief is immeasurable. Everything lost its meaning, everything was in vain. For the first time in his life Bilbo forgets that he needs to eat. He was wounded in the head, but he forgot about that too. He doesn't know where to hide just to cry. It seems to me that these were very dreadful hours spent in semidarkness and deafening silence. No one cares about the hobbit, dwarves are busy organizing the funeral of Thorin and his nephews and at the same time the coronation of Dain. But Bilbo doesn't need anyone anymore. Thorin died, from that moment on the Mountain is a foreign, empty and cold place for him, from which he needs to leave. And he will leave there, leave as quickly as possible, leave once and for all. And he has a long life ahead of him with sleepless, lonely nights to finally cry all his tears.

Bagginshield headcanons part 3: When Bilbo lived alone in Bag End, he woke up late almost every day. However, when he moved to Erebor and began courting Thorin, he always got up early to prepare a delicious breakfast.

Little character-building HCs I like to use in my fics...
Bilbo prefers ale, and Thorin prefers wine. Bilbo doesn't mind wine and Thorin doesn't mind ale, but they both have a strong preference for the other. When they both order drinks, they have to swap as the bar tender will always assume it's the other way around.
Bilbo has been insulted many times throughout the journey, but being called a "ferret" by the trolls offended him more than anything. It's also subconsciously the reason Thorin calls him a "rat" on the ramparts later...
Thorin sleeps in, and Bilbo rises early. Bilbo is from a farming community, and hobbits would be up with the dawn - how else would they eat first breakfast at 7am every day? Dwarves are more likely to be night owls, I think, and therefore sleep in later.
Thorin's birthday is January 12th! This one was pinned down mostly by the excellent and lovely @ladyrionaofthelake who came up with a whole heap of reasons for the date, after I mentioned I thought he was a January baby, and asked if she wanted to pick the date for me to use in fic!
Bilbo is a hairy little fella - just look at those feet! He's not smooth as an eggplant under all those clothes, for sure!
Hobbit vision is better in the day, and Dwarven vision is better at night. They both have excellent hearing, but a hobbit nose isn't to be matched, and therefore Bilbo is more likely to pick up scents than any other member of the company.
Bilbo is demisexual. I always felt like he was on the ace spectrum somewhere, but this suits my personal headcanon of how Bilbo approaches romance in general. Maybe I'm projecting a little with this one, but well... I just really like the idea!
In the sun, Bilbo tans and Thorin burns. Hobbits are outdoorsy folk, and dwarves aren't, so it just makes sense that way around, I think!
Bilbo doesn't like spring anymore. Previously for him, as for other hobbits, it was a favorite season. Everything around comes to life, flowers bloom, soft green grass appears and it’s so pleasant to walk on it barefoot. And the smell of flowering trees makes your head spin. At this time they met each other. This meeting changed Bilbo's whole life. To be precise, thanks to this meeting he began to truly live. And then there was an incredible summer and a fabulous autumn. There were many difficulties, but it was the most wonderful time in his life… And then came a terrible winter, which continues in his soul to this day. If he just stops busying himself for a second and closes his eyes, he feels this winter. No, he doesn't smell cherry blossoms and does not feel the warmth of the sun's rays on his cheek. He feels only the piercing cold. He sees only the icy dawn and his beloved lips on which snowflakes fall. Snowflakes lie down on this lips, but don’t melt.
