‘ ✫*ﾟLEE HOSEOK , CISMALE , HE/HIM :･ did you hear youngjae baek is joining the cast of exposed after his father threatened to out him for money was revealed ? the twenty six year old actor + model with2.7m of followers is trying to clear their name . they've become known as the resident libertine in the mansion , and it's clear that's spot on because they're quite - secretive & - uncommitted , but also + visionary & + soft-hearted . you know they're heading to the confession booth if you hear blinding lights by the weeknd blasting , most likely talking about how they're more than unzipping nike windbreakers, sore muscles but aching heart, hidden kisses, staying under the shower in hopes the water washes it all away .
ok so first things first,,, youngjae was born in south korea to a single mother. at first he knew nothing about his father and his support system was really just his mom, it had been the two of them together since he could remember it. they were super super close and it was no surprise that jae was just the biggest mama’s kid. things weren’t easy, he remembers his mom working a lot and not seeing her much, of learning how to take care of himself in an early age ,, but the concepts of hardship and money (or the lack of it) are quite hard to grasp as a seven year old.
VIOLENCE TW// jae remembers it was around when he was nine or so that he met the man he was supposed to call dad. until then, he had his moments but for the most part, he was a bubbly and out going little kid. things changed then, and he didn’t understand exacty why but his dad would hang around the house, he would be the one getting groceries ,, and it was weird at first, especially because jae never really had the curiosity to learn about his father before, and then it got even weirder because even though he wasn’t v well experienced in the father territory,, he was pretty sure his dad shouldn’t be hitting his mom or yelling at him all the time. was that what dad did?
growing up,, jae realized that his mother ended up taking his father back looking for a financial support. he learned how money was the one thing that opened the door for all of that crap. at age twelve, jae got his first job and there wasn’t one day that would go by without him trying to convince his mother to leave the house with him, he wanted things to be just like it was-- just the two of them. his father didn’t just yell at him anymore. jae couldn’t let him keep hurting his mother. theather was what held him together,,, it was the only thing at school that made him feel something. he liked to pretend to be somebody else,,, with a different life. acting made him forget about the fear that he felt all the time. it was how he dreamed of changing his own life.,,, and he maDE it after graduation, managing an audition to a famous korean company.
first paycheck was when he and his mother moved out,, and hoped to never see that man again. jae is known for being lead actor in famous doramas and back in south korea, he was beginning to be cherished as the nation’s sweetheart. a few years into his career, his father managed to find him again and that was when the threats began. that was when he began giving him money. at first it wasn’t a big amount. all jae wanted was for him to leave again and never show up. but he kept on coming back and that was when he decided to move to the us, with the reason of focusing on his international career. his company stil had no interest in letting the public know his sexuality, since his public was made largely of females, but he was glad that his mother at least was far away from that monster.
jae’s still scared. he’s been scared for a while now. it’s hard to remember exactly when he began feeling so frightened and just didn’t stop. he’s a good actor and been getting more and more attention with the projects he’s been working on--- he hates how he needs to lie all the time. about everything. he hates feeling so small and unable to be himself. he hates he acts like a whole new person and that’s who people like. he lets out this frustration in the small things he does get to do. he wants to feel free-- he wants to feel like he does things for himself. he knows it’s far from reality but relationships are the core of it-- he falls so deep and enters so quickly;; but gets out of it just as easily, often ignoring emotional responsabilities. he hates feeling trapped. all he wants is to just. be.
