JAY RAN A TIGHT SHIP.
It was nearing 2:00 a.m. and he still had the six of you sorting through photocards in the common area. Riki wound up joining them for fun, but he soon had enough and headed to bed. You found the task rather enjoyable at first, but after sleeving and packaging about fifty orders, you were starting to get exhausted.
No, you weren't just tired. You were familiar with the feeling of exhaustion and this wasn't it.
Something was very wrong.
Your chest was tight with pain, like something was lodged in it. You simply tried ignoring it for the first hour, assuming it to be heartburn from the ramen you had earlier, but it was growing more intense until it was unbearable. By the time the pain was so sharp that you broke into a cold sweat all over, your throat felt like it was on fire. It was as if someone was dragging barbed wire up from your gut, stabbing your insides with each pull.
It was Heeseung that noticed something was off first, eyebrows drawn together in concern. He moved his hand to your back to rub slow, gentle circles. As comforting as it was that he was next to you, his touch unfortunately couldn't distract you from the pain.
"Are you okay?" he asked softly.
When you tried to respond, only a wet rasp of a breath came out. This got everyone else's attention. Jungwon, who had been on the verge of dozing off until now, flinched and sat up straight when you started retching. Jay was impossibly still, trying to silently communicate with Heeseung, who couldn't understand what was going on himself. Sunghoon and Sunoo shot each other a look before Sunoo got up.
"Water?" Sunoo tried, wary. "I'll get her some water."
You wanted to communicate that you could barely breathe at this point, let alone drink water, but all you could do was slam your fist against the table. Heeseung swiftly retracted his hand. You doubled over, sweaty palms pressed firmly against the table, and your jaw cracked open as a drawn-out, guttural cry ripped itself from your throat.
Heeseung's hands were on you again, trying to move your hair from your face. He was trying to speak to you—you could feel his lips by your ear, and this helped ground you a little—but you couldn't process any of the words that were coming out of his mouth. You wanted to tell him to get away from you, that you didn't know what was happening, but your forehead pressed into the wood as you hacked and choked.
When Sunoo returned with the water, you were full-on convulsing. Heeseung and Jake were trying to hold you steady while Jay rushed out to call for Wonwoo.
Then, you felt something hard tearing its way up your throat. You heard Sunghoon call out your name loudly, and then with one final convulsion, something burst from your mouth, falling onto the table with a clatter.
You fell back against Heeseung, your body twitching and your breath hitching while he wrapped an arm around you and smoothed down your hair with his other hand. Everyone else was frozen in place, staring at the table in shock.
When Jay and Wonwoo came rushing back into the room, it was Jungwon that swallowed thickly before saying, "Well, uh, we found the key."

i hate when something happens and people start with the "dont trust ur idols" and "all idols are terrible people and u shouldnt think otherwise" ...... i think it’s normal to think ur favourite idols are good people and we shouldn’t be blaming fans who are shocked and upset by the news. ofc they can get fucked if they’re defending him but tweets like "all idols are secretly awful" are not helping anyone. i think it’s good to believe people u meet / know / look up to are good people unless ur proven otherwise
it's not feeding into the parasocialism either if you expect an idol to be a good person! i extend the same grace to the men i meet unless proven otherwise (though that isn't to say women and girls shouldn't be cautious around men). idols aren't "perfect" for not being terrible humans, that's just basic human decency. it's perfectly normal to expect the men you're stanning to be decent humans
with that being said and in light of all that's happening around korean men with the telegram chatrooms, if something like taeil's case comes out about someone you stan and your immediate reaction is "oh he would never do that," then you do need to reevaluate how that parasocial relationship affects you

My dad is one of the owners of the Jewel Tower, but my family decided to leave Gaza for Turkey in 2022 because the tower hadn't been built yet, and to provide a better life for us.
