I want to start this off by saying that you cannot and should not police what others create
However
I have some Notes(tm) on GENDERBENDING CHARACTERS. SPECIFICALLY MALE ONES
Because please guys. Please
If a male character is not conventionally attractive. Why would his genderbent version be?
If a male character does not give a shit about maintaining his looks. Why would his genderbent version have a full face of makeup. Or any make up, honestly. Why tf does she have perfect eyeliner. (obviously i am NOT talking abt like. Fancomics or fanart or fanfics where the entire premise is them trying it, or like friends doing it for them for shits and giggles or something)
Furthermore
If a male character is super buff because of plot relevant reasons. His genderbent version should also be super buff. For example: any kind of athlete. A martial artist. A fighter. Et cetera. Basically, he is buff. Why is he buff? If he was genderbent, would she be in the same situation? Yes? Then she should be buff.
That is obviously common knowledge, but I do want to add that if a male character is super buff because of masculinity reasons, his genderbent version should look stereotypically feminine. What do I mean with this? Eg, if a guy was raised in a household that puts a lot of emphasis on gender roles. As a guy, he was probably pushed into sports etc and looks very muscular and stereotypically masculine. If he was a girl in that same household, she would probably be pushed into things like makeup, fashion, etc, and look more stereotypically feminine. (Ive never come across this, but i figured I should mention this as well) However, if the guy actually loves those sports, then he would probably also love them as a girl, and still practice them regardless, but perhaps in combination with stereotypically feminine things.
And here's the big one
THE SAME GOES IF YOU MAKE A FEMALE CHARACTER MALE
She loves makeup? He loves makeup. She's small and thin? He's small and thin. She loves cheerleading? He loves cheerleading. Shes pretty? He's pretty.
Conclusion, tldr: stop portraying genderbent characters as caricatures of the gender you bent them into. They're the same character, just different parts and they might have had a slightly different experience growing up, depending on the sexism and gender segregation in the work. But at the core, their interests and personalities are the same, and their looks should reflect that in the same way it does in their original gender/version.
Thank you
Googled something about quick hydration and it suggested big jug of water, couple tbsp pickle juice, dash of lime juice.
Its surprisingly tasty????
Pleased to report that after a day of this i am not longer craving caper brine and my mouth is not dry as usual. There's some good suggestions in the notes too that I want to try.

I love rebloging. It’s the adult equivalent of showing everyone the cool rock I just found.
Google, how do I prevent my brother from becoming a nazi
Love to think of the implications of fiction.
Especially when it takes place in the real world but with small (or big) changes to it. Like superpowers, or aliens being real. Its so cool. Oooh, or gods or mythological creatures or creatures from folklore. Tho i adore the fantasy genre, there is something magical about our world but a little to the left and how it would change and shape society.

Tomorrow I will be inventing the wheel
Dude, hold on
was thinking about how the concept of god is usually characterized as male (thanks patriarchy) and i came up with a question: in christian theology,
does "God" have a penis?
surely the catholic church made some sort of ruling on this
stop derailing with Jesus's foreskin, this post is about God's genitals ONLY
Hi, Catholic here—the only part of the holy trinity with a human body is the Son (Jesus) so yes, but also God the Father doesn’t have a human body so no, but the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all the same being as well so yes, but all humans including women are created in the image of God so hypothetically He has everything else too. Hope this helps.
thank you it did not!
adulthood notes:
The Rodeo Rule: you only have to do it for the first time once.
The Rohan Rule: if you are at a social function full of new people and you want to be liked, find someone doing important work like setup or food prep and offer to help.
The Tutorial Mode Rule: to navigate an unfamiliar situation where you fear you will mess up an interaction, preface the interaction by mentioning that you've never done this before, and let them know if you have a specific concern or question.
The Rocket Science Rule: most new things you want to try seem very complicated but are simple when taken step by step.
The [X] Will Remember That Rule: if you need to make small talk with the same person on a regular basis, try to save one fact or current event in their life from a given conversation and bring it up next time you talk.
The Cool Binder Rule: by wearing clothes and accessories that are to your taste instead of trying to blend in, people will be more likely to compliment you and show interest in you as a person.

I hope you get your favorite food this week and your favorite drink and your favorite 2k dollars
I'm sorry there's no magic in this post I'm just talking. I hope good stuff happens to people online I hope good things happen to all of us
transmasculine erasure is a part of trans genocide. its not passive or ignorable, but fundamental to transphobic violence.
transmasculine erasure includes:
ignoring and obscuring transmasculine history, such as by refusing to acknowledge real or potential transness and insisting that transmascs did not exist until recently, or that transmascs have not added much to (trans) history
disqualifying transmasculine people's experiences with their identities, deciding that they cannot be trusted and require outside guidance/explanation
physical and emotional violence towards transmasculine people with the intent to either kill them or force them to detransition
misgendering and deadnaming transmasculine victims of violence as women in police reports and the news
only acknowledging a very specific type of transmasculine person, and treating anyone who does not fit into this mold as a faker or an outlier
treating transmasculine people as if they are identical to cis women or cis men, forcing a divide between their transness and their masculinity/manhood and refusing to acknowledge the existence of transmasculinity as it's own concept
all of this aims to eradicate transmasculinity from existence. it is not an accident that we are erased; we are an embarrassment and a threat to the patriarchy and it's control. we are systematically kept from describing our experiences, finding ourselves in culture and history, or being able to assert our transmasculine identities without the permission of others. it's not an accident that our deaths by murder and suicide, our experiences with sexual violence, are folded into violence against (cis) women to erase the way that transmasculinity shaped them. transmasculine erasure is not "getting forgotten sometimes", it is an active part of trans genocide. and when we cannot be erased, we must be punished and "corrected".
It isn't my place to comment on this as a cis woman, but i'm curious to see what trans men might have to say abt this, (or trans ppl born as women)
While transmasc erasure is undoubtedly a thing of its own, do you guys think that it might have some roots in misogyny as well? I've seen one or two other people imply this as well in discussions i saw or something, and basically what I'm trying to say is that the misogyny that makes people ignore what women have to say/disrespect women carries over post-transition. Even when you pass as a man, when people find out you're trans your voice counts less because you used to be a woman.
Or something idk.
