I applied different brushes for each section in order to layer each element, build up realistic effects

I used oil pastel brushes for the jacket.

I used a blender brush for the hair, and Art Noveau brushes for the background. Tapered oils for the face.

I used a rainbow blender brush for the background.

I could have included more detail into the straps but it would've taken too much time to do.

I used a variety of brushes.

I was a bit unsatisfied with my previous Dasha portrait, so thought that I'd do another - a more straightforward with chiaroscuro portrait.

I've not done an animal portrait (with people, yes).

A quick profile portrait.

I attempted a more impressionistic style, using a palette knife brush for the skin tones and flat and bristly brushes for the air, detail oils for everything else except the background (acrylic and airbrush)
