Its absolutely insane how much backsliding the public consciousness has intentionally done over the last couple years alone in regards to feminism. Like, all of these things were basic feminist concepts that most people anywhere left of center understood and accepted as late as 2024. Y'all remember the "would you rather encounter a strange man in the woods or a bear" question? That whole thing happened just two fucking years ago!

All I remember are the live bugs. I remember driving down the highway and openethe window, hundreds brought in by the draft. Saved from being splattered on the hood and windshield. Flying awkwardly as they mated midair.

There used to be winters here. Actual winters - snow so deep you had to carve through it. Snow so deep that shovelling the driveway was a day's affair, and my brother and I could hollow out the piles to make forts. Snow that you were never sure quite how deep it was, because it would compact under your boot before you reached the bottom.

Okay but this is actually one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen. The cloth alone would have taken months to make! That’s not even counting the embroidery, the dye, the gold, all the extra details sewn into the fabric.

I do think the ability to emoji-react is a net win for human communication. not only does it give you an outlet for 'I see and acknowledge this but don't have a verbal response' but it also adds a pleasing alethiometer element to things
