A Mournful Intermediary

I exist,

Reposed

In my deep seeded flaws,

To carry to term this bleek conception

Of my condition,

Wishing for deliverance

From the agony growing in my chest

I exist

In isolation.

Though I am swaddled by the love of my friends,

Their consolations fall like tears from my chin,

Serving only as a symptom of my pain

Instead of a remedy.

I exist,

In a void.

Numb to the external.

Taking tragedy in stride

With less than a passing thought

Yet

I remain vulnerable

To the whims of my shattered heart.

Painful memories decomposing

What little remains of who I once was

I exist,

With that burden.

The weight of my illness

Pulling down on my consciousness

Forever aware of my proximity to the abyss

But unable to drag myself away from the edge.

So I hold myself back instead

I exist, 

but not for long.

The torment that defines my

Existence will fade,

And as oblivion calls to me,

I will gladly go quiet to that

Good night

And sleep

I exist,

To disappear

To give rebirth

To let new life burst from my hollow corpse,

Felled by heartbreak,

Naked and weak,

To learn from my mistakes,

“Shattered”

Absence is agony Emptiness consumes me

Sinews are snapping This string has unwound me

Breathing is drowning My body confines me

Structure is torture Life is dragging me under

The compass is spinning Chaos has become me

Escape is defeat Relief will erase me

The fragments are scattered I must try to preserve me

Plug up the holes My ship is sinking

Fight or flight My feet compel me

A life on the line The horizon calls me

Live whispers in the wind Hope kindled inside me

So here’s the big update and the reason I haven’t been posting that much. I’m starting up a comic strip based on some true, some fabricated stories about me and my friends navigating life as adult children. After I move into my apartment at the end of the month I’m going to start posting, and I’ll put a link here. I’m so excited, I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time XD

Hey guys, sorry I never posted the pride piece I promised. I had a vision for it but I couldn’t pull it together the way I wanted it to. Good news though, thinking about what I love about the LBGTQ+ community (my friends) inspired a new project that I’ve already started on and am very excited to share with you (more details on that soon, want to get a good handle on it before I put it here).

Also sorry I’ve dropped off in activity. I’ve been having a very busy summer and my drawing pad is gathering dust. Not to mention the fact that my computer with all my files crashed so I’m starting from scratch again. Things have settled down though, and I’m hoping to post at least once a month, if not every other week. 

My brother and I are huge fans of Amethyst+Peridot, and we designed this fusion of them together. We call her Turquoise because it’s the only blue/green stone we could think of that is close to her color.

 In this design we used the most current Amethyst look, which is where her skirt comes from (It’s a translucent version of her ruffled shirt). And since this was the first time we’ve drawn her, we figured we’d draw the first time they fused when their clothes fuse as well. I might change the outfit later if I find a design I think suites her better.
