 officer callahan steps out of an interrogation room with one of your friends, places them back in the holding cell with the rest of you, then calls out your name. he closes up the holding cell and leads you into a back room for interrogation. it’s dim and powell sits in one chair, looking exhausted, callahan stands you against a white wall where your mugshot is snapped, then sits you down. 

the whole room is spinning and you’re not really there. there’s a faint sound of music coming from somewhere behind your eyes, and despite the circumstances, you’re feeling pretty light! needless to say, you’re out of it. 

powell, immediately, begins to ask you questions while callahan scribbles, only interjecting occasionally--

{COLE MONTGOMERY} is looking for {HIS MOTHER, MAGGIE MONTGOMERY}. they might look like {amanda peets, rachel weisz, or any other brunette female fc around 35-40} and be {38} and the connection entails {Maggie was the “it” girl at Hawkins High back in the day. Like her sister, she was hardheaded and determined– but she elected to use those qualities to climb the social ladder. To protect their image, the Montgomerys sent Maggie to New York, to give birth and raise her child with Maude’s help. Those five years were idyllic, Maggie finally felt she was free from the striving and even admitted that maybe her older sister had a point. The two grew so close, and Maude was such a presence in Walden’s life, that when she got sick Maggie didn’t hesitate to move with her back to Hawkins. born to the hayes family on a rainy august night, jenny arrived on the scene just like she did everything in life: early and on her terms. she was breech, supposed to be a scheduled c-section, and born in the month of september but…some things don’t go as planned. (after an emergency c-section with her youngest, mrs. hayes vowed that she was done having kids).

her father is a surgeon at hawkins community hospital, which means he’s a busy guy and not around much. her mother took care of raising her and her three older siblings. and for the most part, it was fine. her parents aren’t in love at all and should probably be divorced by now, but dr. hayes’ income supports her mom -and jenny’s- lavish lifestyle, so they’re together “for the kids”…but mostly for the cash.

the hayes family lives in the rich part of hawkins, in a housing development full of snobby people with too many cars in the driveway and lots of kids. they have a lake house on lover’s lake, a vacation home in the carolinas, and their own pool in their hawkins home, which made jenny’s house a popular place to bring the kids when they were little…and a popular party spot when they got a bit older.

jennifer’s is the youngest of four and she owns it. being the baby of the family, she got pretty much whatever she wanted growing up. her dad works long hours as the hospital and her mom just didn’t seem to care outside of making sure her daughter looked good, so she was able to buy friends and popularity fairly easily throughout middle and high school.

growing up with a mostly absentee father and a mom who was exhausted and relied a little too heavily on her wine meant that jenny was free to do pretty much whatever she wanted. as a kid, she played almost every sport imaginable, but ultimately settled on a love of cheerleading because her siblings played sports and she liked cheering for them and tumbling…and, as she got older, because it opened the door to popularity. because jenny doesn’t get a ton of validation at home, she seeks it out elsewhere: from teachers, friends, and boys, mostly even though she doesn’t even like them very much.

she’s known she likes girls since she was ten. when her friends were losing their minds over tom cruise, she was obsessing over the likes of molly ringwald. when her friends were drooling over han solo, she was falling for princess leia. it’s not something she’s exactly dealt with. and she’s hooked up with a few of her friends, teammates, and high school classmates since then. it’s not because she’s worried about what her parents think. they probably wouldn’t care either way…but it would  probably fuck up her reputation. it’s hawkins, indiana in the 1980s. freaks are ostracized. she knows because she was doing the ostracizing. and popularity is important to her so…she figures she’ll just wait until she leaves for college to figure that shit out. it’s not important anyway.

the first girl jenny ever kissed was taken by the mindflayer in 1985. when she started acting weird and standoffish, jenny took it as a…sign. that maybe she shouldn’t be doing that. (and that maybe she was worse at reading people than she thought.)

this still weighs on jenny a bit. the girl wasn’t just a random classmate. it was one of jenny’s best friends, cheer teammates, somebody who jenny trusted until she didn’t. it was puppy love, they were just kids but…you never forget your first, you know? and that girl’s just…gone. she’s kind of paranoid of getting too close to anybody ever again.

since she was a little girl, she’s always dreamed of the white picket fence, 2.5 kids, and a doting husband so she can keep doing the stuff she likes to do. the only problem is…she’s not sure she wants a husband if they’re not just like her dad: never present and leaving her alone. but it’s still a dream -one her mother is obsessed with- so…that’s the plan, after college.

but while she’s in college? she’s ready to mess around and figure some stuff out. marriages were never supposed to be about love anyway, right?

unbeknownst to jenny, her dad’s about to lose his license for giving out pain pill prescriptions without cause. he’s going to lose his job, probably flee town, and leave her mom to pick up the pieces…and with no access to the bank account dr. hayes is the sole proprietor of.

this event will be in one group, meaning that we’re asking those of you who play multiple characters to prioritize and choose just ONE to participate. there is a post in the discord channel #announcements where you can react accordingly with which character you will be participating as. if you do not react, we will assume that you are not participating in this event.

we are nearing our “season one” finale of back to hawkins! how exciting! unfortunately, that just means it’s only going to get weirder, confusing, and more dangerous for our heroes! as always, if you would like for your character to stay unharmed, please let an admin know.

theodore wildfire was born only one year apart from the nightmare herself, bev wildfire and he’s the wildfires’ youngest child. being the youngest usually isn’t great, mostly because it’s easy to be forgotten – and it definitely wasn’t easier when bev was his sister. but while some kids would take that the wrong way, teddy was never the one to mind that his parents paid most of their attention to bev. in fact, it only allowed him to do whatever he wanted without any big consequences. sure, he was never the type of kid to get in trouble, but he enjoyed the fact that he could go to parties without his parents annoying him as much.

and while one would resent bev for stealing all of their parents’ attention, teddy is the complete opposite. from a young age, he always found bev to be entertaining – while she was throwing tantrums over moving her room to the basement where their older brother was or even in stores, teddy watched from afar and giggled. he clearly didn’t understand what was going on, but he always thought it was entertaining when bev was screaming like that. while a lot of people wouldn’t necessarily tolerate this type of behavior, even at a young age, teddy always looked up to his sister and found in her a best friend that he didn’t know he needed. from wanting to have constant sleepovers with her and wanting to play with her, teddy did care for his sister.

of course, that’s why it was so hard when he found out she had died. it made it harder for him considering that he considered bev to be his best friend. things at home had just gotten quiet and teddy couldn’t quite handle the silence.  it was hard getting used to bev not being there, but with time, things got easier. he still missed her and he would carry her legacy. he goes to parties, he likes to have fun and to drink with his friends. he’s a loud person, something that he learned from his sister and he’s a blabbermouth. no one can tell him anything, or he’ll end up spilling it to the wrong person. he doesn’t necessarily do it as a bad thing, it just happens.

Alex Young was adopted by a couple from Hawkins, Indiana when he was just under a year old. His parents couldn’t conceive children, leaving Alex the only child. He’d been born in the states, somewhere in New York, to a single mother who’d given him up. He never really wanted to find out who she was, nor did he really care. His parents were his parents, and that was that. They did tell him from a young age that he was adopted, which was kind of redundant, given that both of his parents are white, but he appreciated their attempt at trying to be honest with him. 

Though he never really felt the need to compete for his parents’ affection, Alex channeled his competitive nature in every other aspect of life. He was involved in the debate team and student government as early as middle school, always going toe-to-toe with Spencer St. James. One year his elder, Alex had to push extra to try and beat out Spencer in anything he did. It eventually caught up to Alex, when he’d taken over as student body President when Spencer graduated and went off to college, but even then, it felt like Spencer had been campaigning against him. 

Alex knew that he was meant for things bigger and better than Hawkins. He was desperate to get out of Hick Town, USA as fast as he could, and applied to colleges on the east coast, on the Ivy belt. He wound up at Yale, studying political science and setting his sights on law school. With a lot of late nights studying for the LSAT (and an overwhelming amount of student loans), he fought his way to stay in New Haven to go to law school at his alma mater. 

Coming back to Hawkins was never the plan. Alex wanted to stay and join some big law firm in New York or Boston, but life happened, to say the least. His mother got sick, and his father was too old to take care of her on his own. Alex couldn’t burden them with putting the two in a nursing home, especially not after what they’d done for him all his life. He moved back to Hawkins after law school, getting a job first at a local defense attorney’s office.

Once his mother passed, Alex was dead set on getting back out and to New York, but things took a turn at home. All of a sudden, the mall was up in flames, and none other than Spencer himself was to be mayor. Alex couldn’t bear to see his hometown go down the toilet, especially not with his father still there. With so many people resigning from local offices, Alex decided to run for District Attorney, hoping he could try to do something around town to make a difference.
