A Bag of Flour Turned Massacre: Gaza’s Last Lifeline on the Brink
Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders): In Khan Yunis, the search for a bag of flour turned into a massacre. Yesterday, Israeli forces killed 59 Palestinians and wounded more than 200, who were brought to Nasser Hospital. The medical team was forced to evacuate the maternity ward and convert delivery rooms into emergency operating theaters.
"I saw people torn to pieces... Hunger should not be a death sentence," says Dr. Wafaa Abu Nemer of Doctors Without Borders.
Emergency coordinator Aitor Zabalgogeazkoa warns: "Nasser Hospital is the last lifeline in the south, but it is on the verge of collapse."
