Event Interest check!
Hi! I’m Corbyn (Mission2Mordor on all socials) and I’m running an interest check for an event I’d like to host!
‘Back to Basics!’ Will be a coloring book event with potential short stories! I want to keep it cute, so no angst pages but I’m looking to see how many people would be interested. The interest check form below contains a couple of timelines, and some options on how you all would like to see the coloring book turn out.
The coloring book will be digital, as I will not be releasing any kind of physical copy due to the book being the work of both myself and everyone who participates (hopefully!) The digital version should be able to be printed if you would like. Again, this will not be used for monetary purposes.
What is the coloring book?
‘Back to Basics!’ Will be a coloring book event based around the older stranger things teens as kids! This means any of the teens we have seen from seasons 1-4. Less popular characters will absolutely be welcome! This is a feel good event for those who are anticipating being crushed after the events of S5, those who just want to see their favorite characters as kids doing ridiculous kid things, or even those who would just like the fun of it!
What kind of things will be accepted?
Lined coloring pages, Dot-to-dot pages, color by numbers, and lined doodle pages will be accepted for the coloring portion. For short stories, it should be short (500 words max), SFW, and have a happy ending. No major angst, but things such as being a liiiittle overwhelmed, dropping ice cream, etc will be just fine as long as they end sweetly!
Are there character restrictions?
No. I want this to be easy going and drama free, and though I understand some characters may not be the best, I do not want to make anyone who likes those characters feel unwelcome or ashamed. I do ask that you be respectful ALL AROUND. this means both those who like certain characters and those who don’t should use discretion when talking about things pertaining to them OR potentially triggering content.
Is there a server to join?
There will be shortly! The server link will be added to this post in the next couple days.
Can I draw an adult character AND their kid version?
Yes! As long as the artwork is SFW, and contains the child version of a character, it should be acceptable!
What about writers?
Depending on how the interest check goes, there will be a chance for the short stories to either be somewhere in the coloring book, OR there will be a separate book of small short stories! Everyone is welcome here!
Will there be an application process?
No, there will not be. Sign ups will occur after the interest check and will run until the first day of the most popular timeline. I will not be requiring art samples or writing samples for this event.
