"you know darn well he's guilty. that filthy murderer doesn't deserve to be protected."
you're tied to a chair in the dingy dustbin of a party house which Benny's Burgers had become. it reeked of beer, sweat, and moldy furniture. jason crossed his arms, glaring down at you as if you had personally handed eddie the axe, or whatever he thought chrissy had been killed with.
you objected, tugging at your bounds. there was no way eddie was a killer, he just wasn't the type! besides, he had been so thrilled about the final fight of his campaign, the metalhead had absolutely no reason to ever harm a hair on chrissy's head.
jason sighed, sucking his teeth to restrain his anger. he stepped closer, leaning onto the arms of your chair to loom over you.
"I thought you were smart."
he spoke quietly, as if not wanting his teammates to hear. he sounded disappointed in a way, tutting out your name as if it tasted bitter on his tongue.
"now, I should make it very clear that I would never hurt a girl."
jason moved back, raising his hands in defense of himself. he turned towards his friends, furrowing his brows as if deep in thought.
"however," he said louder now, "seeing as there are lives at stake…"
you felt your heart drop at the way the atmosphere shifted. his blue eyes meet yours, a faux-apologetic smile on his face.
"I'm sure andy wouldn't mind."
