Archimedes’ Principle:
When a body is partially or completely immersed in a fluid, it experiences an apparent loss in weight that is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by the immersed part of the body. Â

Charles’s Law (aka The Law of Volumes):
For a fixed mass of gas, at constant pressure, the volume is directly proportional to the absolute temperature. V1 / T1 = V2 / T2 such that as T increases, V increases. In other words, the harder you try (T) to keep a baby or toddler quiet, the louder (V) they get.
Baby Carrier Dad Micelle
The concept of micelles was introduced to describe the core-corona aggregates of small surfactant molecules (i.e. the flock of adoration that surrounds a new Dad with a baby in a carrier).
The Big Thwack
4.5 billion years ago, Theia collided with Baby Earth and together, they form a new Earth and moon.
Big Bang (i.e. Child Birth)
The idea that the Universe (i.e. Baby) began as just a single point, in an initial state of extremely high density and temperature, then expanded and stretched to grow as large as it is now, and could still be expanding.

Electron Pair Repulsion:
The principal that electron pairs around a central atom tend to orient themselves as far apart as possible. ANALOGY: The principal that your single and childless friends around a new baby or toddler tend to orient themselves as far away as possible.
Schrodinger’s Cat Parent:
A thought experiment sometimes described as a paradox. The scenario presents a hypothetical cat parent that may be simultaneously both alive awake and dead asleep.
Buffers:
Buffers are solutions that resist a change in pH (i.e. sanity) on dilution or addition of small amounts of acid (babies) or alkali (toddlers).

Adiabatic Expansion (of a stinky diaper):
A parcel of air (i.e. dirty diaper smell) expands and become less dense as it rises. This occurs because the air pressure lowers around a parcel (i.e. dirty diaper smell) as it increases in altitude. The volume of the parcel (i.e. dirty diaper smell) increases since it is expanding. The mass of the parcel (i.e. dirty diaper smell) remains constant since adiabatic theory assumes no exchange in mass between parcel (i.e. dirty diaper smell) and environment.

Beer’s Law 2.0:
The concentration of a solution (beer) is directly proportional to the absorption of light or energy (caregiver’s stress).
In other words, the harder the day, the darker the beer.
Rigid Body:
A solid body in which deformation is zero or so small it can be neglected. The distance between any two given points on a rigid body remains constant in time regardless of external forces exerted on it (e.g. an unwilling toddler in a car seat).
Beer’s Law:
There is a linear relationship between the concentration of a chemical solution (e.g. beer) and the absorption of light or energy (i.e. stress).
Parental corollary for Beer’s Law: Lights out, kids asleep, beers open.
Brownian Motion:
The erratic random movement of microscopic particles (i.e. toddlers) in an fluid (i.e. room), as a result of continuous bombardment from molecules (i.e. toys, food, furniture, pets, other people and toddlers) of the surrounding medium.
Torque:
A twisting force that tends to cause rotation - during diaper changes.

Magnetism
A physical phenomenon produced by the motion of electric charge, resulting in attractive and repulsive forces between objects.
Phase Diagram for Toddlers:
Triple Point: Where solid, liquid and gas are in equilibrium (i.e. happy toddler).
Critical Point:Â is reached when the molar volumes of liquid and gas become the same (i.e. when both adults and toddlers meltdown).
