Sims 4 Mini Mod: Signature Scents
ive been working on more and more mods, learning sooo much about what goes into mod making and let me just say-- i applaud every single mod creator in the sims TvT cause WOW its so much work! lmao
but its rewarding! I wanted my sims to feel more immersive and feel more personal so this small mod here is for Signature Scents! and im very excited to share with you guys. I ended up making a good amount of custom icons and lets just say it was good practice for the future! photoshop can do so much its crazzyy
anywhozers, heres the mod info! (featuring my nsb gen 1 sim)
6 Scent Preferences (Likes/Dislikes)
2 Social Interactions (+1 Solo interaction)
8 Buffs (Custom Proximity Buffs)(actually might be 10 lmao)
While having cheats enabled, (ctrl+shift+c, testingcheats true) locate the Assign Signature Scent Pie Menu.
There you will find multiple sub menu's of the scents separated by type. You will also find an interaction to remove scents. This interaction if used will remove ALL scent traits, so if you have more than one equipped it's best to remember so you can reapply them afterwards.
You will also find an Assign Scent Preferences Menu. In there you will be able to assign your sims Liked and Disliked Scents.
Once you assign a scent, it will show up in your traits menu! And that's it, easy as pie.
Your sim will have an occasional happy buff when they have a scent. They will also get proximity buffs depending on their liked/disliked scents. For example, if your sim dislikes floral scents and they are around a sim with a floral scent, they will get an uncomfortable buff from being in the same proximity as them. And vise versa for liked scents as well.
This mod includes 2 Social Interactions;
Compliment Scent Choice & Ask about Signature Scent.
Ask about Signature Scent can be used if you assigned a scent to a NPC and forgot what it was (possibly something i did lol), you can use this interaction and they will tell you. It's also good for basic storytelling and immersion.
There is 1 solo interaction, called Apply Signature Scent. This interaction will apply a happy buff to your sim. This interaction also does not have an animation.
If your sim is assigned a scent, they will gain a happy buff that's specific to their scent, occasionally.
Now for the scent list. Some scents are flirty scents, meaning they will give anyone in the proximity a flirty buff.

The action of applying a scent/scent preference is directed to the target sim, meaning you do not have to control a sim in order to assign them a scent. You can give NPC's scents easier this way!
That's pretty much it! I hope you guys can personalize your sims just a llittle bit better now :] This mod does have an update planned but that'll probably take a minute, depends on how much stuff i add! but definitely look forward to it. happy simming!
