Leaded glass entry door and transom that I designed for a gorgeous English Arts and Crafts home in Sonoma. The glass had a 3/4" bevel, and when the western sun hit the door, there were magical prisms literally all the way through to the back porch. It is truly a living thing! I love to embellish!! Not great photos, but here goes, anyway... When the HGTV Dream Home in Sonoma, sold, I worked with the wonderful new owners to redo all of the interior colors. In addition, I painted the frames on two mirrors that they wanted to keep, but make more interesting. This mirror frame was all black. The new embellishment that I painted reflected the soft yellows and black present in the room. This is the center knob of three from a vintage buffet that I painted. The knobs (4 1/4" x 4 1/4", form a triptych of the California landscape so near and dear to me. I no longer have the buffet, but love how the knobs on their own make wonderful canvases. One day I'll find the perfect piece to put them on... Painting practical objects is such a rewarding way to add beauty to necessity! Throwback to a Persian restaurant, Rumi, I decorated for a family member several years ago. We had a very minimal budget, but still wanted to create a feeling that reflected Rumi's writing.
