Hi queen! Can you write a Barty x reader (female) pairing where he keeps pestering her to out with him, but she's super studious and keeps ignoring him even though she secretly likes him. He keeps trying to get her attention and affection π₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ί
Hi, my love!!!π Barty would so do this! Here's a little one-shot of my fav boy for my fav girlβ€οΈ (she's not that studious in this, but she goes to the library so hope that counts for something)
Barty Crouch Jr. x reader (1.6k words)
cw: swearing, not taking no for an answer, use of y/n, reader is a little cringe
31 October 1978 (sixth year)
"Come on! We're gonna be late!" Marlene whined, pulling you and Dorcas by the hand to Ravenclaw Tower.
"Babes the party started at nine and it's nearly half ten. I'm pretty sure we're already late enough to warrant a leisurely pace," Lily laughed, following behind arm and arm with Mary.
The wings of your angel costume slowed you down some, much to everyone but Marlene's relief.
"Yeah, but I heard there was going to be a costume contest at eleven and I look really fucking good so we need to get moving."
She had a point. Marlene did look fabulous corseted into her pirate wench costume. She matched Dorcas, who was sporting a feathered hat and eyepatch. Lily and Mary chose to go as woodland faeries. Their short green dresses and iridescent wings enhanced their natural beauty in a way that would make anyone stop and stare. They asked you to be a trio with them, but you already had your costume picked out months ago. Halloween was your absolute favorite holiday and you wanted to stand out.
Your tiny white dress fell right at the top of your soft thighs, perfectly accentuating your figure. The wings attached to your back were small, gold, and meticulously feathered by hand. Glitter kissed your pink cheeks and a shining halo was charmed to float above your head all night. Marlene's outfit definitely had some competition.
The common room was overflowing with students. Music and flashing lights overwhelmed your senses. It felt as though every fifth-seventh year was in attendance. It was rare for Ravenclaw to host parties, but you had a sneaking suspicion of who was responsible for this one.
You immediately lost Marlene and Dorcas to the drinks table and Lily dragged Mary to the dancefloor when you stepped inside. You could have joined either pair, but you got distracted by the sight of a fluffy ginger cat lounging on one of the grand windowsills. Dying to pet it, you made your way through the crowd determined to make a friend out of the fuzzy creature.
Someone roughly bumped into you, causing you to lose your footing. A pair of strong hands quickly righted you from behind, saving you the embarrassment of landing on your ass within the first five minutes of your arrival.
"Thank you," you laughed, turning around to properly address your savior.
Barty Crouch Jr. stood behind you, his mouth stretched into a predatory grin. He was dressed as the devil, horns and all. If he wasn't so on the nose, you'd have been able to better appreciate how good he looked.
At the sight of him, your face paled.
"Seems like you just can't stop falling tonight, angel."
You rolled your eyes, pushing past him. Barty chased after you, his height making it easy to catch up. "You fell from heaven to grace us with your presence, you fell just then- you're welcome for catching you by the way, and you'll be falling for me later tonight. Preferably into my bed," he smirked.
You let out an incredulous laugh, facing him with your arms crossed. "Is that right?"
"Well, we are already in a couple's costume. It seems fitting that we are going to leave together, don't you think?"
"Never gonna happen." You turned back the way you came, forgetting the cat entirely. Dorcas and Marlene were close by, eyeing you and the Ravenclaw boy.
"Oh come on, angel. At least get to know a guy before rejecting him."
The comment struck you as odd, considering you had known him for years. At least, you knew of him. You sat near him in multiple classes and had to listen to his non-stop chatter. It figured he didn't remember meeting you- he was always far too busy talking about himself to notice anyone else.
"Barty Crouch Jr.," you start, "Ravenclaw, Beater, member of the dueling club. Top of our year, but you don't want too many people knowing that. You're best friends with Evan Rosier, you hate pumpkin juice but love pumpkin pasties. We've shared twelve classes together over the past six years." Barty opened his mouth to interrupt, but you continued, amused. "I don't need to get to know you, Barty. Iβm not interested.β You skipped off to meet your friends, leaving the playboy by himself.
"It's not fair you know my name but I don't know yours!" He called after you, not bothering to chase you this time. Barty was hooked. He'd know everything about you soon enough.

The following week, you couldnβt seem to shake him. Barty was everywhere you turned. He didnβt talk to you, didnβt get in your way, but he made sure you knew he was watching. A smirk or a wink here and there did the trick just fine.
On Tuesday, he waited outside of every class you attended. On Wednesday, he positioned himself across the Great Hall from you during meal times. On Thursday, he convinced Imogen Potts to switch him seats in Potions so that he could sit at your table. He didnβt try anything. He simply inserted himself into your daily routine.
Barty was patient. He was playing the long game- content to wait as long as it took to win your favor. And you were getting flustered.
βIβm telling you heβs mental!β You complained to Lily and Dorcas that Friday night.
βI donβt knowβ¦itβs kinda sweet.β
βJust because James stalked you all last year doesnβt mean every relentless guy is sweet, Lils.β
Dorcas giggled, rolling over on Lilyβs bed to face you. βHas he actually done anything though? It sounds to me like youβre just seeing more of him than usual.β
βHe doesnβt have to do anything!β You whine, βThatβs what makes it so annoying. Heβs justβ¦ there no matter where I go! I should have just thanked him for catching me and moved on instead of giving him lip on Halloween. He must think I was flirting or something.β
βWere you?β Lily questioned knowingly.
βI most certainly was not!β
βYou blushed!β Dorcas pointed at your reddening cheeks.
βShut up! I didnβt blush over Barty. Heβs a creep.β
The girls squealed at your denial. βA fit creep.β
βLily!β You tossed a pillow at her head.
A knock at the door saved her from any further pillow fighting.
βCome in!β She shouted, her voice muffled.
A timid first-year Gryffindor shuffled inside, a piece of folded parchment in her hand. Your giggles subsided.
βUmβ¦I was asked to give this to you,β she handed the parchment to you and practically ran out the door- clearly not wanting to stick around for questioning.
βThat was strange. What is it?β Dorcas questioned, getting up to sit on the floor next to you.
Opening the letter, you first noticed that the handwriting was unmistakably boyish. Half-print, half cursive, fully messy. Scanning the lines of sloppy text, you groaned. It read:
Y/n L/n. Gryffindor, book-lover, founding member of the Gobstones Social Club. Second in our year (sorry about that). Youβre best friends with Dorcas Meadowes and I regretfully havenβt discovered your snacking preferences yet, but I do hope youβll give me the chance. I want to get to know you because Iβm very interested.
(P.S. Weβve only had 11 classes together. I got kicked out of divination in 3rd year, so please cut a guy some slack.)
(P.P.S. You look pretty today.)
βLet me see!β Lily snatched the letter from you, shuffling up the length of the bed to keep it out of your reach. Dorcas rushed to her side, giddy for new material to torture you with.
βWhy is this so sweet?!β She cooed.
Lily agreed. βI didnβt know Barty was capable of something thisβ¦adorable.β
βItβs not adorable! He acquired this information by literally stalking me for the last week!β
βY/n,β Dorcas laughed, βyou have to admit this is kinda cute. Barty doesnβt put effort like this into anything.β
βYouβre still blushing- just thought you should know.β
βSod off, Lily!β You threw the pillow back in her laughing face.

Dinner time came and you waved your friends off, telling them you wanted to return a few books to Madam Pince before eating. Dorcas surmised that you were just too chicken to see Barty and she was partially correct. You really did need to take back the books, but the thought of him confronting you about his letter made your stomach flip.
Tonight, the crackling fire and the scent of ancient texts calmed your anxious mind. You returned the potion books and sank into one of the large armchairs by the window. Your eyelids grew heavy, and you allowed yourself to drift into a restful sleep.
When you awoke, a pair of light eyes were only a few inches away from your own.
Jolting backward with a yelp, Barty came into clear view.
βSorry to wake you, angel. You look so pretty asleep.β
βWhat in Godricβs name is wrong with you?!β
βThat depends- how much time do you have?β He joked.
βYou scared me half to death, Crouch.β
βOoh hey now,β he playfully scolded, βI'd prefer to be on a first-name basis with my future wife.β
You let out a sharp laugh. βWife? Thatβs hilarious. What part of βnever gonna happenβ was confusing for you? Because Iβll gladly rephrase to βnever in a million yearsβ if that makes it easier to understand.β
βIβd gladly wait a million years for you.β
βDonβt you have someone else to bother?β
βOf course! But, I choose you,β he grinned showing off his perfectly white teeth and small dimple. βYouβre stuck with me, y/n. Best to give in now so you donβt regret not falling in love with me sooner.β
βIβll pass.β You stood, gathering your things and moving to the exit.
Barty matched your stride, βDid you get my letter?β
You let out a non-committal hum.
βAnd are you going to come to Hogsmeade with me next week?β
βBarty of course not. Now leave me alone so I can walk in peace.β
He backed up, raising his hands in surrender, the smile not leaving his handsome face.
βIβll meet you outside your common room at noon next Saturday!β
βStill not happening, Crouch!β You threw over your shoulder.
You both smiled, knowing full well youβd be meeting him for the first of many dates to come.
