Ok guys hear me out. There are THREE Stranger Things canons.

1. Mind flayer’s canon: show ended with season 3, the rest is porn, Vecna isn’t real, none of season 4 happened, and the characters move on. comics and miscellaneous media from before season 4 are canon.

2. Vecna’s canon: Season 4 IS canon, but Vecna “won” and season 5 is an illusion. Holly is still a little child, not a main character. Kas!Eddie is real and he will get married to Steve. Comics and other media consistent with season 4 and came before season 5 are canon.

3. Everything canon: Every season of the show is canon. Every comic. All the novels and that upcoming animated show. It’s all canon. Everyone who is probably dead is dead. Everything the Duffer bros say is legit HOWEVER Byler, Ronance, and Stonathan WILL happen at least in some capacity. And Steve and Robin still hang out.

This is how I choose to perceive the show.

Disney villain songs are all about power. But did you notice the ones who die horribly never get one?

Villains Who Get Songs (Because They Still Have Some Control)

Ursula (Poor Unfortunate Souls) – Stabbed, but no blood.

Jafar (Prince Ali Reprise) – Trapped, not dead.

Scar (Be Prepared) – Eaten, but off-screen.

Dr. Facilier (Friends on the Other Side) – Gets dragged to hell by his own allies (scary, but we never saw a body).

Villains Who Die Horribly (And Stay Silent)

- Gaston – Falls to his death. No song (someoone else sings ABOUT him) - Clayton – Accidentally hangs himself. No song, Phil Colins doesn't even sing about him. - Frollo – Falls into literal Hell. No song. (Wait—except...)

Why does Frollo break the rule? Because Hunchback is a literary story, not a folklore story.

Frollo does get a song (Hellfire), but unlike other villain songs, it’s about losing control, not gaining it. Hunchback isn’t a fairy tale—it’s gothic horror, so the villain’s downfall is his own mind eating him alive.

Villains? Sing about power. Heroes sing about "I want." Mary Poppins, the morally grey time lord? Her song about money and power taught children how to have empathy for someone who doesn't have any of it (the bird lady). Does that make her the anti-villian?

Sure, we never see any gore of Ursula, Scar, or Facilier, but it's not like we saw that with Gaston or Frollo either.

We just watch them fall, which is imo a lot less disturbing than seeing Scar's shadow get eaten alive (by former allies) and Facilier get dragged to hell. (also by former allies)

Scar especially is a perfect example of both dying in a horrifying way and having a song about gaining power.

As you mentioned, both Gaston and Frollo have villain songs, but that is 2/3 of your examples of characters which don't sing villain songs so I think it's a loose connection.

The only examples you've provided that make sense to me are Jafar and Clayton, which is not enough to demonstrate a pattern.

You're free to have whatever opinion you want, obviously, I just think this doesn't make sense.
