“I don’t think you understand who you’re talking to, but I can almost guarantee that I’m a better shot than you. I’m not here to kill you, though. So why don’t we try to avoid unnecessary violence.”

“You want to take that bet, sweetie?” Bela looked her up and down for a moment, coming to the conclusion that she was probably a hunter and she rolled her eyes. “I understand just fine.” However, the gun lowered.

“Are we all going to ignore the fact that this town is getting crazier and crazier? Because I’m pretty sure Freddie Krueger tried to break into my home a couple nights ago and the coffee girl finally just remembered the order that I get every day.”

“Well... I’m sure crazier things have happened to you here in this town.”

“Are you kidding? They served me warm tequila.” He offered her the same smile, studying her. It had to be her, there was no way this was something else just posing as her. “You’re alive.”

“Listen, I’m sure the Cuervo family would be just as upset as you are, but they’ve had to deal with people shooting tequila with salt and limes instead of sipping it neat for centuries. If their dreams can be crushed, so can yours. Drink your warm tequila.” Bela hated those awful soppy feelings, but it was honestly just so damn good to see him. “Yeah. I’m alive.”

As much as Cecily wasn’t for helping others, she was more for putting fear into the souls of anyone possible. Everything was a game to her. “I guess I can try,” she let out an over dramatic sigh, crossing her arms. “What did they do? Or... should I be asking what do they owe you?” 

Bela shrugged her shoulders, “I think he may be a hunter.” She rolled her eyes, they were always so trigger happy. At least Sam and Dean seemed to have chilled. “He found me lurking around and, from what I can guess, he thinks I’m not human.”

This town is crawling with all sorts of creepy crawlies; some I know, others I don’t. Hunters are everywhere and we all know how they can be. Sam and Dean might be giant thorns in my side at times, but at least I know them. In a town like this, a human like me needs all the protection they can get. Think of those boys as my guard dogs; would you really want to go snooping around my home?

“The… repeat that name please madam? Gen? Gun. Is that what this… contraption… is?”

“You’re kidding, right?” Her brow furrowed, “Put it down before you force me to be unpleasant.”

“Can’t everyone just-I don’t know-calm down?” Peter exclaimed, glints of fear within his tone. 

Matt had been quick to draw it, thinking… rather foolishly that he had seen her eyes flash black. Now, however, he was starting to doubt that. After all, why would a demon care about a 17 year old boy with a gun– even if it was pointed at them. “You- Christo,” he said quickly, waiting to see if it would have any effect on her.

As he said the word, Bela smirked, remembering when Sam had said it to her and she had faked being a demon just to freak him out. Doing that here, sadly, wouldn’t be as fun. “Not a demon, honey.” Her gun held steady at his eye level, “Didn’t quite make it that far. Want to lower your weapon now or are you prepared to do this all day?”

“How’bout you lower your gun first? Good sportsmanship and all..” He kept his gun steady in his hand. “hey, I’m exactly as stupid as I look. Don’t test me.”

“Uh uh, Tiger. That’s not how this works.” If he was going to pull a gun on her first, he would be the one to lower first. “I’m sure you are, but do you really want to test me? Do you trust that you’ll be able hit me before I can hit you?”

“Don’t think I was trying to hide it, Bela.” Just as soon as she’d told herself not to let her emotions shine through here, she had to go and say something like that. Her whole face practically screwed up. In Hell? Then just as fast, she looked away and rolled her eyes just for good measure. “It’s the way I’m gonna speak to someone who lies, cheats and steals for living so either get on board or find the door.” And there it was. Laurel looked away again. How did she manage to get under her skin so damn easily, still? Hadn’t she outgrown this? Chancing a look back, she let her expression slightly (very slightly) soften. It had to be some kinda twisted that a part of her was actually…not happy but, something to see her again. “I am a big girl and I don’t have to have, most likely, mediocre talk with you over anything. So, if that’s all…”

Bela scrunched up her nose at the girl; she was so cute. Every time Laurel looked away from her, it made her smile grow. Some people liked to golf at the weekends; Bela liked to make Winchesters uncomfortable. “Oh, come on now. I hardly stole from you.” She rolled her eyes, “I stole from your dad, and he was dead, so...” She made a sturgeon face and shrugged. “But don’t feel bad about the lying; afraid that’s something everyone I meet gets to experience.” Bela laughed a little as she turned from her again and she took a moment to look her over. Still as gorgeous as ever, if she was being perfectly honest. Too bad she was a Winchester. “I’m sure you don’t. But how else will you catch up on local events? Like the fact that all of your brothers are right here? Well, maybe not all of them. I hear John got around.”

“I can speak from experience and say she’s not kidding, she can and she will shoot you. Do us all a favor and back down, before you bleed all over this… mediocre bar.”

Hearing his voice, it was difficult for Bela not to smile, but she held it together until the guy backed off. “Hey, now. It’s not that bad.” She turned to face him, the smile finally breaking through. “You’re here.”

“Lower yours first. Mine’s just rock salt. So if that doesn’t scare you, then I won’t shoot.” Jace rarely made a mistake, but his tendency to shoot first and ask questions later did get him in trouble. “That’s a nice speech. Do you tend to rise above societies expectations? Maybe by being something they’ve never seen?”

“And I’m supposed to just take your word for that, yeah?” Her eyebrows raised in defiance and her gun held in place. Bela had had enough guns in her face to know that lowering first put her into the less than favourable position. “I’ll consider lowering them together, but-...” A brow raised at his words. Did he think she wasn’t human? “Why don’t you stop dancing around the subject and ask me the real question?”

Cecily smirked a bit as she walked up behind the familiar person. “I see some things never change. Tell me, what did this idiot do to deserve your attention, Bela, dear?” 

Bela’s lips curled into a smirk too as she recognised the voice. They hadn’t exactly been on good terms last time they had seen each other, but had she ever truly been on good terms with anyone? “Wish I could say, but he seems to have some kind of issue with words. Perhaps you could make him speak.”
