     His guesses were mainly meant in JEST, and he made sure to let out a chuckle or two right after. Still, he wouldn’t put it past her. One never knew these days - there were all sorts of people around. For all he knew, this stranger could be a total LUNATIC. 

               ` what’s that suppose to mean? i’m not some                  kind of a criminal to cope myself up in a                  prison! i’m a dojo assistant master for your                  information! i teach the way of the swords. `

“The same to you Kaoru, I am sure I will see you soon.” 

Souji grinned widely at the female, glad there was no huge reaction though could tell there was the smallest amount of discomfort. He shifted his weight slightly, slipping his hands in his sleeves. \

“I will see if I can drop in tomorrow or maybe the day after, sound good?” 

                ‘ definitely. i’ll prepare some meal then                   for you and your daughter. i’m sure                   you’d be hungry by the time you stop                   by. ’

Anything to get a bite to eat. Since he held no currency in this place, he had no choice. He skid on his sneakers as he rounded another corner, looking behind him at the sound of a voice. Who was that supposed to be? She didn’t look like the authority here. He felt like he was running through the wrong time. He would have turned to run faster- had it not been for the wall of the shop. He slammed into it, causing him to topple backwards and land on his back with a loud ouch. The food in his arms remained clutched to his chest as he moved to stand, huffing slightly.

Hiro stared up with wide, owlish eyes at the approaching woman. “Nothing–!! I was just… going home!” Nailed it.

         One of the things Kaoru dislikes the most are liars especially is they’re children. At such a young age for them to lie was no excuse. An angry mark appear in return as she continue to close the distance between them before crouching down in front of him. Narrowed eyes stare irritatingly at the kid before a sigh escaped his lips to break the silence between them, a hand raising to knock the other in the head.

              ‘ going home, my hand! you’re clearly                 stealing. just because you’re a kid                 doesn’t mean i’d tolerate what you’re                 doing. ’

      He could only SNORT at her response. Distracted, she said. Yeah, no shit. That was such an understatement, really. If it hadn’t been for his quick REFLEXES she would have gotten flatted out by the passing truck right about now. And he was yet to receive a thanks or any words of gratitude from the girl. 

                                                 ❛ You’re welcome, by the way.                                                     And I seriously doubt that.                                             You were looking so dazed just then.                                                     What, first time in the CITY? ❜

         A small pout move in Kaoru’s feature as eyes narrowed in a judging manner. What was that snort for? Alright. She’d admit that she was careless a while ago but did he have to shove it into her face? No, he doesn’t have too.

                                    ❛ and you’re going to get hit by a SUPER LARGE car                                             if you don’t watch where you’re crossing. ❜ 

      A hand was quick to catch the girl’s arm in time before she could even STEP FOOT onto the busy intersection, pulling her back before she was to hurt herself. Did she not see that the signs have changed to a stop? 

         Kaoru found herself in a surprised state as she was forcefully dragged away from the place she was standing by a stranger. A scowl was warning to escape if it weren’t interrupted by the latter.

           Eh?

         Ah. Right. She was crossing the street a while ago before she got distracted by the large building. Embarrassed by her own actions, she shyly apologize though hint of stubbornness was evident in her tone of voice.

“I am sure you do him very proud with how dedicate you are from what I can see and hear. I am glad to see a female Instructor. My daughter is very very much a spit fire and is always looking for a spar. You wouldn’t mind if I brought her along when I came by would you?”

Souji smiled at the other, thinking of his little girl once again. His little Samurai Princess who got mad if anyone implied girls couldn’t fight. She would be excited to see a female instructor. She was the most like him of the triplets… 

              ‘ i don’t see why not? i’d love to meet                 your daughter, mister and i’m sure                 she’d grow stronger if she’d learn                 how to use that strength of hers. ’

        Excitement was evident in Kaoru’s expression as the smile in her lips widen. Her features clearly brighten p at the thought of possibly having another student. If she could get her attention then the success would be high.

Perhaps it was another tear that caused his drastic entrance into this place. He’d been running since he’d hit the ground- literally. This place had no technology and no sense of familiarity. Some concepts seemed vaguely similar to structures in San Fransokyo. Even still, he chose to run. “S’cuse me–!!!!” Stolen food bundled in his arms. “Move-!”

         Kaoru was just on his way back to the dojo after gathering some ingredients for their weekly meal when suddenly she caught sight of a kid running in a hurry. At first, she decided to brush it off and proceed into walking, however, when she heard someone screaming ‘thief’ as they pointed to the kid, she can’t just ignore that.

         Leaving the supplies down at the corner for a while, the assistant instructor dashed to catch the boy with all her might. Oh no he won’t get away with this.

         To think a day would come where both of them would indulge into such conversation like this. Certainly Kaoru didn’t think of it as possible, much more considering Megumi had liked Kenshin too before. But now she could clearly see how happy she is together with Sanosuke.

‘ thank you but your medicines were helpful too, miss megumi. he might not say it but i can see that his body is starting to decline and if it weren’t for the things you’ve handed me before leaving for aizu then i’m sure kenshin would have suffered more. so thank you so much, miss megumi.. but let’s not talk about that.. i’m doing great. so is the dojo. with both yahiko and yutarou as assistant instructors, the dojo has been a lot livelier though it seems like yahiko would have to leave for his own journey sooner. it’s kind of lonely but i’m sure he’d do great and he’d be able to help a lot of people. kenshin thinks so too that’s why recently on his 15th birthday, he handed down his sakabatou to him as a gift for his genpuku. kids sure grow up fast. it wouldn’t be long too until kenji grows and leave as well.. ’

“Oh? An assistant master? That is quite a impressive spot.”

Souji remembered how Kondou wanted him to take over the Shienkan…. maybe one day he would get the confidence to do so… Sano had already shown him where it was… That it was still standing… 

“I wouldn’t mind seeing your style one day, I always have enjoyed watching how other people’s techniques.” 

While it was true he loved watching, Souji honestly wanted to see if it would be a good place for Maiya to go if she wanted to spar. His daughter was such a spit fire… and Manami was getting upset at her for beating up random boys around town for spars…. 

               ‘ isn’t it? as the family’s only child,                  i, kamiya kaoru, will do my best to                  continue the legacy my father had                  left me. ’

         That’s right. Just because she was a girl doesn’t mean she’s unable to run the dojo with her power and strength. She has confidence in his own skill even if some people belittle her. Well, it doesn’t really matter to her what people had in mind.
