EN C3 P1: Starry night and the lighting details in the buildings at the background were nice touches to the artwork that sets an atmosphere similar to the manga.They were of different shading which makes the colours very dynamic, bringing the focus of night life that our characters worked in, made the picture a magical one
EN C6 P1: Making use of the sidebar of the manga page to have their names was a very creative move. The floating lights give that mystical vibe, and the blushes was a nice addiction to show the coupleās love for each other.

What I thought stood out the most when I first saw the pictures, was the usage of pastel colours that brightens up the atmosphere in the picture. It brings out a lot of tender fluffy love that Toujou and Ayumu has in the story and tickles my fancy by adding that bit of mystical feel with the floating blue and yellow lights. I thought more attention could be done to the buildings in the background of EN C3 P1 (which artists like Azurekeii and Crea Noir really shined in), but overall, still a beautiful submission!

I really like the way it was coloured, it conveys a really calm and soft atmosphere that just goes very well with the story. I especially liked the lighting effects.

For the scenery, Entry 09 - Caniisu. I like the sunset part, how it shows that the shy changes from evening till night. And in Japan, there are OT cases; so Ayumu and Toujou are taking a break before they continue to work. The colouring is not too dark for night time but not too bright for afternoon. I like how the offices in the building are coloured lighted up too! The shading on the couple looks good too! :)
For the Yumu-resting his head on Toujou, Entry 14 - Crea Noir. I like the purplish-dark theme with the PIKA-PIKA; it could be the yaoi gods blessing them with stars or Toujou and Ayumu playing around in the water and are now resting. I like the PIKA PIKA. *A*

A flower slowly came to mind.
Wasurenagusa. Neither the deep serene shade of mine, nor the pure light shade of yours.
Will it look just like that?
But when I opened my eyes again at this citadel, I could see all sorts of blues, but never once the blue that belongs to you. When I finally saw yours, I also saw a despaired deep black blue.
There were once a knight and his lover. When they were strolling along the riverside, they happened to chance upon tiny little flowers blooming all along the riverside.
How they loved the flowers!
The knight braved his heart and stepped forward, carefully picking a bunch of flowers for his beloved.
When I finally saw you once again, being summoned to this citadel, you didnāt notice me. Your face was filled with surprise and happiness as you was crowded by your little brothers. You slowly squeezed your way through as you greeted other swords, warmly welcoming your arrival. Finally, your eyes met mine and mine met yours.
āI am Ichigo Hitofuri Yoshimitsu. I am the only tachi crafted by Awataguchi Yoshimitsu. The Toushirous are my younger brothers. Itās a pleasure to meet you.ā
I thought I was prepared, but I guess I am not.
Your voice is still the same, gentle and polite, yet holding a strong strength from within. Your manner of speech is still, just like how it was like the first time we met, yet it feels slightly different too.

With this, the both of them made their promise.
A few years later, the girl became a beautiful woman, and the boy turned into a handsome man. The both of them became lovers. But, in order to fish, the man had to travel on a big ship to a faraway place.
āI feel so sad. Without you, I couldnāt live.ā She cried.
āKikyou! You must wait for me, Iāll surely return!ā
āRemember to definitely return back to me. Iāll wait for you. See you again.ā
As the man travelled towards the sea, slowly further and further away, Kikyou kept on crying.
Keichou 3. Toyotomi Hideyoshi passed away.
Tenka Hitofuri continued to remain at the Osaka Castle, together with his brothers.
I went away together with my mistress, Nene.
We couldnāt promise to meet again, unlike Kikyou and her lover.
The master choose his swords.
The swords canāt choose their master.
That, is the life of a sword.
But I long to return back to you again.
So, please wait for me.
Tenka Hitofuri.
The moon tonight sure is beautiful.
But even after 10 years, the man had yet to return. As Kikyou continued to look towards the sea, her heart only continued to cry. With that, she decided to go to a temple.
āPlease master, please teach me a way to quell my heart.ā
āIn order to do that, first empty your heart. Donāt be entangled by the affairs of your feelings.ā
No matter how determined she is, she still couldnāt forget him, so she would always run to the seaside, waiting for his return. She continued to wait for him, even as she grew old, but she still continued to look towards the sea, thinking of that man who didnāt return, with tears flowing down her cheek.
Even as I was no longer at the Osaka Castle, I would always gaze into the direction of that castle.
Ichigo, I miss you.
Ichigo, I long for you.
Ichigo, I want to see you.
āDear god, please allow my beloved person to return back to me.ā
Even if it was impossible, I begged for a miracle to happen.
The god finally appears before her, āKikyou, havenāt you endure it up until now?ā

Even when he was not by my side, the memories still continued to linger.

Even if we couldnāt choose our master, I still longed for the chance to reunite with him. Because I couldnāt stand it, a place without him.

In the far off distance, the castle burned as the fire dyed the sky in crimson red.
I ran towards the castle, but immediately fell down.
Even though given freedom as spirits, we are still tied down by our true form. The restriction chained us.
I could only stare into the deep red bright night sky.
I couldnāt see the moon.
I couldnāt see the blue sky.
Iām tired.
I feel sleepy.
As Kikyou closed her eyes, she slowly turned into a flower. Ever since, people call that flower āKikyouā, the flower always looking towards the sea, searching for that man.
And thus, Kikyou symbolizes unchanging love. Her unchanging love for that man who never returns.
Kikyou, maybe she never did reunite with that man again. But I pray for a miracle, for them, to return together. In hope that this miracle will produce yet another miracle.
Ichigo, I long for you.
My love for you is unchanging.
Unlike them, we are unable to choose where we belong.
But unlike them, we have an eternal lifetime.
I pray that Iāll be able to meet you again.
I pray that our love is an unchanging love.
Ichigo, the moon sure is beautiful tonight.
Is it silly for me to say this, even though I canāt see the moon at all?
I had a word block for weeks for chapter 1, but chapter 2 is like I'm flying~
But for this chapter more than 50% of it is filled with the flower language's origin. ;v; There will be more interaction between the characters in the next chapter, I think. But I hope you guys can put mika in the position of Kikyou while reading it.
Next chapter, I'll write about Forget-me-not. After that, probably another flower and ending off with chrysanthemum again. Chrysanthemum has many colours and different colours have different meanings, so it's kinda fun~ I still worry about how much of an involvement I want tsuru to have or none at all, but I (slightly) likes to torture my sword boys.

This fic is basically based on Hanakotoba, I got inspired when I search the hanakotoba on the flower in the background of the Touken character design book. I choose to adapt more of the asian flower language, which may differs slightly from the western. I did my best to research about the flower language, but some error may still be there, so please ignore bugs.
Also for wanting to give mika happiness for all the sadness he had endured in Azure Sky, so this is like a what if ichi and tsuru didn't become lovers.

The imperial flower.
Noble and elegant.
That was what I thought when I first laid my eyes on him.
His hair was an amazing colour that I was fairly familiar with whenever I gazed above. The colour of a beautiful bright blue sky. The long hair was neatly tied into a low ponytail. There are no other accessories adorning his hair, a simplistic yet graceful feel. His hair trailed down, touching the tatami mat, it certainly did look soft and silky. But what attracted my attention was the expression on his face.
Proud and confident. The ever charming Kiku.
He was not sitting behind Toyotomi Hideyoshi, but right beside him. To be able to do this, this guy, no, this sword knew of the worth of his own status. He must be the treasured sword of Hideyoshi.
āThis sword, itās even more beautiful than what Iāve heard.ā
Toyotomi Hideyoshi carefully held my true form and admired me with his wife. From today onwards, they would be my new master and mistress.
āIt certainly is beautiful.ā
I sensed a gaze in my direction, but Hideyoshi had already returned his attention to back on his hand. I turned around to look behind my back, thereās nothing but a door there. It couldnāt be, but could it?
After a period of time, the people in this room finally left, leaving only two lone swords behind, not their true forms, but their spiritual forms. The sword smiled lightly as he noticed my gaze and perhaps my bewilderment. I started to initiate the conversation first to break the ice.
āHideyoshi sure is a peculiar man.ā
A wide grin immediately appeared on his face. āHideyoshi-sama is a sword enthusiast loved even by the god of sword. Heās slightly more sensitive, particularly regarding us.ā Although I wasnāt sure by āusā did he meant the both of, us or swords in general, but one thing for sure, Hideyoshi really did sense me just now. Another thing that I was sure about was the amount of love and respect this sword had for Hideyoshi. His smile obviously gave him away.
āPardon me for not introducing myself.ā His features softened, perhaps having let his guard down after his master had appeared as the topic of the conversation. Most likely, chatting about the person precious to him made it easier to enter his comfort zone. Once again, I was assured the position of his master in this swordās heart. Iād never seen a sword as proud of his master as him.
āI am Ichigo Hitofuri Yoshimitsu. I am the only Tachi made by the hand of Yoshimitsu of Awataguchi school. Yoshimitsu is a master of Tantou, and thus my younger brothers are generally Tantou. Hideyoshi-sama is my master, and I am his sword. I am also known asāā
āTenka Hitofuri. Am I correct?ā The prized sword of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Iād heard about him before, but I didnāt expect that I got be able to meet him, let alone serve under the same master.
The smile on his face never fades. āIām honoured that one of the Tenga Goken would know of my existence. I must say that Iām surprised.ā Yet, the confident smile on his face said otherwise.
This was my first meeting with Tenka Hitofuri. This meeting with him was really just like how his name implied.

5 things that I learnt about Tenka Hitofuri.
He is proud to serve Toyotomi Hideyoshi, proud of his creator Awataguchi Yoshimitsu, and deeply respects them.
I could say I was totally mesmerised by his looks when he was standing with dignity right beside Hideyoshi on the battlefield. Behind his calm and graceful smile, hid an exhilaration that was almost screaming out, whenever his beloved master gained recognition.
When the topic focus shifted to him, he would definitely mention about his beloved creator. He held with pride his existence of an Awataguchi Yoshimitsuās sword and would mention his name whenever credits were given to him.
And thatās when I discovered yet another thing about him.
He totally loves his little brothers too.
Whenever Yoshimitsu name was mentioned, the topics of his little brothers surely followed suit. His expression changed from a graceful and elegant one to a tender and gentle one.
Whenever Namazou and Honebami were with him, his expression immediately softened from that of the prized treasured sword of Toyotomi Hideyoshi to that a big brother.
Wanting to solely monopolise him is impossible, because his brothers were always there. But I didnāt hate that, because this part of him was simply adoring too.
Despite his strong appearance, he had a cute side to him too.
There was once something like this had happened.
āSay, do you want to wreck havoc with me?ā he said.
I wondered if this was a characteristic of him as a midare hamon sword. Of course, I immediately accepted his invitation.
āAnd how do you suggest we do it?ā I poked my head out as I lifted and kissed his hair.
From his reaction, I could conclude one thing.
He gets embarrassed easily.
This was something I truly hadnāt expected. The proud and confident Tenka Hitofuri, getting his face red because of some words from me, could I say I really loved this part of him?
Normally they would describe his face to be as red as tomato, but I didnāt. Maybe I was too influenced by his name, I thought that he looked as red as a strawberry.
But despite all that, sometimesā¦
He can also be quite assertive too.
Yes, just like how he would press his lips onto mine after I riled him up.
I wanted to see much more of his different expression, thatās why, I poached him even more.
āWhatās next?ā I laughed while covering my mouth with my sleeves.
With this, his face grew even redder than the first time.
āPlease donāt tease meā¦ā He looked away.
Despite the assertiveness, in the end, he is still easily embarrassed.
But I still love him nonetheless, for he is my ever charming flower.
My noble and elegant Kiku.

After blooming, the flower withers.
I wanted to make Tenka Hitofuri and Ichigo Hitofuri slightly similar yet different. Tenka is slightly more confident than Ichigo, because one is the proud treasured sword of Toyotomi Hideyoshi and the other suffers from the inferiority of being re-tempered.
I'm still gonna write my tsuruichi, but I wanna give some happiness to jiji for making him suffer in Azure Sky. This will be a happy ending~
