As bad-ass as Ellaria is on the show, I really wish the Dorne narratives followed the book a little more. 

A new season and a new set of character drawings!

Last fall, super-cool guy Khalid Mezaina and I were commissioned to conduct a series of workshops in Khor Fakkan and Kalba (Eastern parts of the Emirate of Sharjah in the UAE). Each group of students attended a workshop over two sessions in order to create the components Khalid and I would assemble into artwork for the Al Hefaiyah Mountain Conservation Centre.  The final artwork is part of the permanent display at the centre in Kalba. 

Salama and her daughters. These characters are part of an Emirati folk tale. Salama and her daughters are sea monsters, not unlike Scylla from Homer's Odyssey, that create whirlpools in Hormuz Strait to destroy ships and drown sailors and merchants. I have dressed them in the clothes the merchants would be carrying to the Emirates.
