Character Modeling and Rigging: Day 115 of Hmmm...

So I’ve been up since Saturday night, practically… I am dead tired right about now. I think I got about 3-5 hours in now. Working on finishing up my Thesis for a journal publication… ~oh joy… -_- (so sleepy)… but you know… although I missed training this morning… I was allowed to sit in the evening group…

I saw an interesting looking airplane and was inspired to do a plasma gun. I’m guessing its very basic comparatively. I’ve always had this problem with wondering if my polygons are too high, but I doubt it…

Back in that Maya life again. I guess since I’m used to blender, the first thing to do is get used to the shortcuts… So place emphasis on finding the shortcuts I’m used to… SRT Controls: Select(Q), Translate(W), Rotate(E), Scale® Mesh: Extrude (Ctrl+E), Select: More (>) Less (<)

Navigation: Rotate(Alt+LMB), Pan (Alt+MMB), Zoom (Alt+RMB), Focus (A)

Change meets resistance...

Animation is a VERY PRACTICAL industry, not purely theoretical, you can't look at the architecture of any given principle of animation and say that all those things have to be in there for the principle to work... So I'm actually educating in Jamaica about animation, trust me the fight is real about getting things up and ready, between lack of equipment and software, there are also colleagues that are jumping in from an IT background and so was I, but my hobbies were in design and animation... Its tricky, because they may be older, but you have the experience and that doesn't go too well when you are trying to tell them what needs to be done... Bird Bounce and the stages of animation I did to get there... Squash and Stretch. I used ToonBoom Harmony 14 for the animation and Blender’s Video Sequence Editor to compile them all with the music!
