I really liked chapter 5, but there is one issue that I had with it that I haven’t really seen many people talk about. I like Flowery’s character, but I feel he doesn’t really fit with the rest of the flowers.
The first thing is that the names are completely different. All of the other flowers are based on their colors besides Seth. However, while Seth is not named after a color, but Aqua does call them Purple before they say they would rather be called Seth. This shows that their name was something they chose, rather than the name they were given. There is no such indication for Flowery’s name.
They also don’t really feel like a cohesive group. While you can get a lot of information about what the other flower’s relationships are with each other (often with the help of interactions at the diner that Flowery is absent from) it’s not made the most clear what his relationship with them are besides being an encouraging leader.
While the flowers want to be human, all of them have something in their design that makes them look inhuman. Even the ones that do look more human (like Blue and Yellow) still have color palettes that not only fit their colors, but also makes them look less like a normal human. They still stand out in that way. Flowery just looks like a normal guy. There is not really any visual indication that he is not human.
This was kind of just me rambling, so these thoughts may be a bit unorganized and underdeveloped. I just wish Flowery felt more like one of the group, as opposed to a group and their leader.
