It’s been a while...
So, I don’t have too many followers of this blog, but I kind of owe it to those that have followed this blog a bit of an explanation to my long absence.
Life kind of upturned itself since around the end of October last year, and since then I’ve more or less lost passion for the game. I’ve also lost large pieces of my life that have been important to me, and in a sense still are. The scars are there, and very very fresh, and I’m finding new ones every day. However, I’ve been working on it. Healing is a difficult process, but I have an amazing support group full of friends, as well as my incredibly patient significant other, and I’m doing really well. It’s a very slow process, but I am getting also myself back in to the game, and am looking forward to playing the new patch.
For me now though...
I’m currently working for Square Enix as a researcher! I’m the sole research assistant on a grant project in regards to Final Fantasy, and have been having a lot of fun with it. The connections I’ve developed through this project so far have snagged me a pretty much guaranteed job with a decent salary (over double what I’m making now), and I’m also sponsored to go to graduate school as soon as I finish my undergrad degree.
In addition, I will be going to the Eorzean Symphony in June, as well as attending the meet and greet (Courtesy of the research project). I’ll also be at the Distant Worlds concert in October. Fanfest is also a possibility! Let me know if anyone wants to say hi at these events. I love meeting people with a passion for the game!
