Instead of Hanako, Muja and Mida being romantic rivals, why not have them being deeply concerned about Taro considering every girl he’s ever met has either died, strayed away from him, or are busy with someone else. Hanako as a caring sister asking Taro what’s wrong and posing a threat by trying to convince him to transfer schools by the end of the week. Muja trying to help Taro’s wellbeing in the hospital (because having almost every person close to you dead’s gotta hurt) trying to get him to seek help, and Mida being a supportive teacher as well as his counselor. This would show how your actions affect the game - you’re not just getting people out of the way so senpai can notice you, you’re also actively hurting him as well as others.
