Well the Core knows what incarnations sentinels are because they're the ones who give sentinels their incarnation identities. Not only is all that data logged in their systems, but arbiters can also just tell, as long as it's a sentinel. In terms of other human incarnations, they're more likely to keep their specific powers under wraps, as well as hiding the fact that they are incarnations, either because they know about the sentinels, or just for spiderman-ass secretidentity reasons. However, there are a lot of Sentinels with powers focused on gathering information with particular focuses on learning what enemies are capable of.

One thing to mention is that in the sentinels world, Indentity is the foundation of power. Because of that, hiding your identity can actually weaken you. This is especially true for "natural" incarnations - unlike humans, not much of their identity can be seperated from what they're an incarnation of, so they tend to be open about it and loudly declare what they're the incarnation of. And of course the core has a large analyitical dataset on top of that.

That doesn't mean it's impossible to decieve people about your powers, though. You can even do it without incurring the power loss - for instance your example could call themselves "The Shadow Bringer" or something like that, and since their powers do let them do that, it would simply.
