i hate puns and finding ones that aren't cheesy was extremely hard..

zoey: i did zoey & rochelle last because i just couldn't think of ideas for them, and i hoped that i'd find inspo for them as i browsed for the other characters... it didn't really work. I also have 'quitter-itis' and if I did the girls first & got frustrated with any of the guys after, i would've given up and only made the ladies. i leaned into zoey being named 'teen angst' in the game files, and because she's a horror fan :)

francis: i redesigned his card once, the original just didn't feel like him enough. i don't quite like his but i don't want to redo it for the third time. i do like having his arm out of the frame though, it adds some interesting shapes i think. i took many art (painting, ceramics, photography, journalism, coding, etc etc) classes in my life and i retained only the 'interesting shapes & empty space' stuff. though you probably can't tell because a heart is kind of hard to fill up..

bill: i tried to make a card that matched his color pallete, but it turned out ugly every time i tried. i found a cute army themed vintage valentine on pinterest that i stole the quote from

louis: I HATE THE QUOTE ON HIS SO BAD but i couldn't get my original idea to fit!! he would have to be tiny, and the focus is on Him not the text. i know its corny.

nick: he was the first card i made that also inspired this project. you can find his first card here. it would've been cute to make them all kitty themed, but the ears I used don't have a recolorable center and it would've drove me crazy trying to color the insides of Every Ear. there are literally infinite cat puns, so maybe next year..

ellis: There's not a lot of good mechanic puns, and all the 'southern'y ones i could think of were too regional (ive lived in the south my whole life, but not anywhere near georgia). and any southerner jokes i could find were obviously made by northerners who think all people from the south are bucktoothed inbreds.... I tried to be a little more 'experimental' to break up the monotomy of everyone just standing in the middle. he is a little small though.. come back.. why are you so far away southern boy..

rochelle: i knoowww the notes are in random places and dont make sense i played clarinet for a few years i kinda dont care anymore. i would've gone with a depeche mode lyric pun but i couldn't think of any that are gender neutral & 'appropriate' for the collection. i kept all of the cards gender neutral because i really didn't want to make 3 of each card to make them apply for everyone lol. love rochelle she so cute
