I need to draw something quick or else the spiritual sadness will start setting in.
Okay FINE, the indescribable dread of the Woolhaven DLC is that the hatred directed to the Lamb as a God, while they are trying to reclaim their lost home, rings with unsettling truth. That no matter how much you want to return to a warm community that you were deprived of, the world has turned you and everyone there into the same callous and recklessly destructive people as the monsters who hurt you. In trying to reclaim that sense of community, to take the world back for yourself, you are inevitably re-inflicting your trauma on a new generation of survivors just looking for a haven like you were. Every step of the way you want to make excuses that no, you arenāt those same people. Theyāre wrong to characterize you and attack you that way. Donāt they know how much this means to you? How much youāve suffered? And the realization of the hollowness of these excuses comes too tragically late. And even when you learn to let go of the past and back out of the cycle at the end, the damage is irrevocably done.
Community gardens could be a good rotted Yngya song addressing the Lamb
It gives āDonāt worry about it sweetie, everything will be fine (Iām toxic and Iām scared Iāll hurt you)ā
Hereās another song that reminds me of her. About how, on some level, Yngya is happy she was an absent mother because she feels like otherwise she would have failed to protect the Lamb, like she failed to protect the rest of her flock.
Wistful mother-child things
Sometimes Iāll just have a deranged white-pill moment and think something like āWe should all think like Jesus would have.ā As though I have the capacity.
(white-pill as in absurd hope v. absurd despair black-pill moment, because I think itās hilarious)

This gameās writing is pretty good at making you sympathize with characters that do monstrous things. Iām just gonna assume everyone in it just exists in a premoral world where egoistic violence is the norm. Where everyone is either a threat or someone to be subdued for survival, and everyone only knew how to secure what they want through conflict and power.
And the Bishops were just mortal creatures who picked up the crowns in order to better achieve what everyone else was using power to achieve anyways. And they only knew others as threats or tools, so thatās how they go about treating mortals until they find someone like them. And rather than treat each other as threats or tools they kinda respect each other for being people in this world who chose to wield the same power to get by, and they kinda decide to cooperate and share in the strange journey of crown wielder-ship with the only other people in the world whose experiences they could relate to.
And it felt nice to finally have another who they werenāt against but who they could embark on life in a really chaotic world with. But as soon as their continued alliance jeopardized power, the only thing they had known to keep them safe up until then, they threw away companionship to hold onto their old way of safety and immediately felt miserable at what they lost. But maybe had to deny it because why let go of safety and prosperity secured by personal power for this new sense of family that they found? Could it really be worth more than that? Better to just blame each other rather than themselves for starting a conflict of interest, for ruining a good thing, when that good thing could have been able to endure a conflict of interest, if they just give up the way of life they knew up until then and relied on someone else even if that meant relinquishing power over them and maybe giving up immortality altogether.
Theyāre people who chose power over family because the first thing was the only thing they knew to rely on and strive for up until then and it made them feel conflicted. They seem like people who would have preferred companionship over just struggling with everyone for power and survival forever, so now Iām like these are pretty relatable, premoral, recklessly self-interested people. Iām glad they could make up and rekindle a sense of family afterwards. Like wow, I donāt hate these people anymore, good for them actually. RIP to all the people they hurt though, they should do like 100 lifetimes of humble living and unpaid community service to barely start to make up for it or something, idk.
The scene where Narinder praises the Lamb for selling out Ratau, the closest thing Lamb has to a family figure at the time, for a gain in power is so. It just parallels his actions up until then it seems like heās doubling down like āyes, this is totally what you should do, choose power over caring for people, good job, I respect thatā to assuage his own sense of cognitive dissonance and guilt. āyeah the emotional grief of this trade is just weakness leaving the body amiright??ā Very interesting and sad.
Your Sariel and Yngya series is amazing, i really love it! Thank you for the nightmare of blind devotion.
Thank you! They have a funny codependent disaster dynamic to me.
Theyāre each otherās therapy and they both suck at it.
Had a thematically fun Narilamb idea:
I like the idea that Narinder, despite his denial of it, is pretty softhearted.
As the embodiment of death he thinks he can only be denied, hated, or feared and so embraces his role as a tyrant to whom everyoneās lives belong in the end, but he really just wants to be accepted.
And The Lamb can accept their own death because they are determined to live on their own terms in service of a cause that will outlive them. They live in a way that conquers rather than spreads the dread of death (the latter would be the case if the Lamb usurped him only to reprise his role as tyrant.)
What Iām saying is The Lamb, given what theyāve been through, thinks about death a lot and how excessive fear of it only seems to spread it (i.e the notion of kill or be killed), sympathizes with its inevitability, and can understand Narinder pretty profoundly.
I exist. I am here.
I exist!
Missing link from Utena can be so relevant to everything actually
Itās āWhy do I live only to be used in service of someone elseās power and die? Why donāt I get to choose the lasting meaning of my life?ā the song!

So what is Narinder and Lambs relationship like from usurpation to the present time?
I havenāt really thought about the more lighthearted aspects of the dynamic yet. I think pre-usurpation Narinder has feelings for the Lamb beyond just seeing them as a useful tool, that he denies or tries to rid himself of because heās committed himself to the pursuit of power. Heās probably now cynical of love, considering the love between his family also gave way to the self-interested struggle for power, so he thinks thatās all that really matters in the end. To him, any feelings that would come into conflict with that are a sign of weakness. Though I do enjoy headcanons where Narinder still wishes to keep the Lamb around and treat them well in the afterlife though in a position that could never interfere with his ambitions. And I think itās fun if the Lamb is sharp enough to piece this sad fact about Narinder together, and have to deal with what that means for the future of their relationship.
I sometimes think I make the Lamb too sad in my art - unrestrained I imagine them to be very sassy and childishly silly. I paint them as someone who is deep down very sentimentally bothered by injustice and holds a lot of repressed guilt, though they try to project an image of pragmatism and strength to maintain their reputation, and therefore protect themself. The guilt is even to the point of excess, the result of all the hatred they receive both from their enemies when they succeed and from their followers when they fail.
They see their enemies not really as intrinsically evil, but as profoundly flawed people, who are recklessly selfish, ironically to the point of self-destruction. But they are also very distrustful due to their own trauma and will hurt people out of paranoia if they think it will prevent further harm, which contributes to their guilt that they too might be recklessly selfish. They feel like this makes them undeserving of real love, not just the idolizing worship their followers give them, which they also feel undeserving of. Iām not sure how much Narinder can piece together about the Lamb. At the very least, he is aware that performing as a god takes a toll on the Lamb.
I see Tongues and Teeth as their low self esteem anthem in which they are both critical of Narinderās ambitions, and the role of submission he expects them to play, but also fully aware of their own destructiveness in resisting to submit to those ambitions, and at the core of that is the sentiment āEven after how you treated me, I still care about your happiness. I want to be with you, but I am suspicious of you and will hurt you, but (probably vainly) hope you would still want to be with me despite that.ā
The Lamb can tell when Narinder is hiding feelings of affection but is unsure whether heāll ever want to act on those feelings or whether heāll shut them out forever and just succeed in no longer having them. They donāt know which one would be better for him, so they donāt bother pushing him either way.
I do think Narinder, deprived of love and unconditional acceptance, was deep down unhappy. So I think theyād develop a surprisingly wholesome relationship, though one full of ruthless teasing, and their shared issues with emotional vulnerability. But they at least feel like they can be more of themselves around each other without being judged for their vulnerability or callousness, because they each have a bit of both of those traits.
Ohh I will ruin you
Itās a habit - I canāt help it
Iāll project this song onto just about any character.
Bo Burnhamās āAll Eyes on Meā being on Narinderās offical account posted character spotify wrapped thingy is so so good. Like your callous pursuit of power and recognition as a god being a depressive cope for the seemingly irreparable dissolution of your family and dwindling hope of finding true happiness is showing, man.
i can always just draw temi with a gun
(iād like them to have chaotic childhood friend energy)
If your still looking for Temi requests, one of my headcanon is she a good cook, not because she likes cooking but because she liking feeding people and making them happy!
So may I request Temi cooking or baking something?

This is a cute idea. I can see Temi as a pretty chill person with cozy hobbies, who cares for her friends. Violence and gore is just another one of her hobbies.

Maybe Temi meeting Marchosias? Or giving him a headache? The classic little red riding hood vs big bad wolf? I don't think I've seen the motive done despite the potential.
Marchosias would think āI could capture this ghost to find a way to cure the Rot through interrogation or experimentation on exorcism methodsā
Temi would think āOoh his lab and dissection tools look cool. Itād also be really cool if the stitching on his face came loose and his head split open like a melonā
I donāt know, maybe they could build a friendship off that.
I think this songās lyrics fit any of the Woolhaven lambs and Marchosias (non-romantically mostly):
You have the thing I love
But the need in me is way too much
(But the fear in me is way too much)
If I, open wide
One of us may get lost inside
Me or you, one of us is going to need to die
My interpretation about how the song fits (in a non-shipping way) below:
Temi has no resentment or fear in her heart. Violence is not necessary for her to live happily; itās just funsies. Sheās kinda like a venus flytrap that way <3
