lets talk about tropical freeze
ok so like, i get it, haha funny wiiu sucks jokes, yeah sure whatever, but here’s the thing, no matter what the switch gets it will never have the absolute masterpiece that’s “Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze”
the amount of charm, polish, amazing level design, fantastic music, and so much more in this game is through the fucking roof
and nobody fucking played it
ok that’s, a bit of an overstatement but this game got so unfairly ignored and skipped for a couple of reasons
Metroid fans were fucking pissy that retro was making Donkey Kong instead of Metroid, causing some major backflash for this game even existing, which is like, darn?? you got one fantastic game?? the nerve of retro for making a fantastic game?? so thanks everyone for that
DKC:TF was coming out the same year as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Brothers, and all eyes were sorta on those. Not a lot of people cared about the “silly monkey game that’s killing metroid” vs super Smash brothers
I think there’s just a stigma of 2d platformers like “ooOOOHHH we get so many 2d platformers why should i care”
tropical freeze is a fucking marvel of a game and literally anyone’s who played it will agree, and it’s a fucking shame it’s so brushed under the rug because it’s like, top ten games material
and hooh boy the music by David Wise in this is HOOh jamming
look, i get it, we’re all on switch and making epic funny wiiu had no games jokes, but please god if you DO have a wiiu, this game is 20 dollars now, try it out please
