this has never happened to me before but i just got a seriously disturbing comment on one of my ao3 fics. it wasn't a personal attack but it was an attack on someone else's in real-life human rights using the female character in my fic to make the point- i deleted it immediately because i don't want anyone else to be traumatised by that comment but i'm a little shook up right now

it's made me realise that people filled with hatred are amongst us on ao3- ofc ai/b-ts and other annoying stuff but i think a lot of us still consider ao3 to be a safe space? at least i did until now 😔
