At what point do you all start calling yourselves artists?

I've been a musician/singer for many years but always performed in orchestras. About a year ago I started trying to write my own original songs. Except I don't think any of them are good. My lyrics either come off as too kiddy and sing song or like I'm trying too hard to be deep, and even though I try to listen to a lot of diverse music my melodies are always kind of similar sounding or at least have very similar vibes.

I hate calling myself an artist because I've never shared my work (except for one song which I sang at an open mic earlier this year) and I have trouble finishing songs. I don't think I deserve to call myself an artist. I should also add that all this is 100% a hobby and I work full time. But I go on social media and see people my age cranking out professional quality songs! It's so easy to get discouraged. Everyone on here is so talented, when did you start calling yourselves artists? Are you an artist when you share your work? Or when you finish a work? Or when you write something good? Please help me!
