Usually I like to theme my murders around their crimes, but I'll give a fairly basic one.
Get closer to them, but not close enough it's suspicious. Just close enough to get them into your room alone so you can stab them/kill them however you'd like. Preferably in a bathroom, blood will clean off of there easier. Clean off the weapon, clean off your own clothes, then find a place to put the body. Burning is a good way to get rid of it. Burn the body and possibly the clothes you wore, and then bury the charred remains somewhere. Make sure you take the body out at night, so no one notices.
Kinda boring, but whatever.

An axe? Too heavy, in my opinion. Sure, gets the job done in one hit, but what fun is thattt?
I much prefer daggers, or maybe a sword, if I'm feeling fancy. I like to play with them a little. It's fun!!!
If you had to use an axe, though, I would suggest chopping each limb off individually. Lots of blood, hehe!
If you want a clean kill... Well, I still just wouldn't use an axe. Too slow and heavy. Dagger to the throat will do 'em well.
