the wicked movie teaches important moral lessons like "be bisexual in college" and "don't trust politicians" and "if you push someone who's in a wheelchair without their permission, someone might throw a bench at your head with their mind"
*nods* I always throw benches at people who push me without permission. /joking, silly

A young seadweller walks awkwardly from tank to tank, taking in the fish and waiting for someone. They shiver, the thick purple thigh high socks that shouldâve kept them warm pooling around their ankles. They keep looking over their shoulder. They can feel confused looks on them, making their mutant fins flick nervously under the headscarf they tied to keep them hidden. Theyâre not supposed to be here. Their skin is so light and so soft compared to those around them, their adult molt being many sweeps in the future. CARCNI PEXIES closes their eyes and hopes Tavros shows up soon.
âI will, I promise.â He smiled up at them reassuringly. He tried his best to not cause problems- real problems at least.

âOhh, I get it. I, uh, donât talk to a lot of people much anymore either.â Heâs sure that they probably had different reasons for that, but he wouldnât press it.
He took a moment to close his eyes and concentrate on listening to them- through the glass and water always made it a little more difficult. âMm⌠mostly just people watching it sounds like. Theyâre talking about me too, my horn. Since itâs different.â
âI⌠guess yoou canât tell them what happened, huhâŚâ they put a sympathetic hand on tavrosâs shoulder.
âNot⌠not yet at least.â Heâd been trying to avoid talking about it. Which was much the same way as he handled the way he was paralyzed. It made it easier to act like he didnât need- or want- anyoneâs help.
âIâm soorry.â They say quietly. âIt⌠shoouldnât have happened. Itâs noot right. Itâs cruel.â
âItâs fine, he could have chosen to do worse.â Tavros was used to dealing with pain at least.

He gave them a small smile and reached up to give their hand a pat in return.
âItâs just how it is here. For all intents and purposes, I, uh, shouldâve been culled a long time ago. Iâm lucky to have survived to adulthood after my accident.â
âCoome bback with me? Too my woorld?â Itâs a desperate, silly offer. âI coould keep yoou safe there.â
âThatâs sweet, but, uh, I donât think that would work out so well.â He had seen some of the views Carcni had said came from their guardians and partner, and Tavros wasnât so sure heâd be comfortable being around those two.
i cant breathe
This did NOT go where I was expecting.

Hey if you have chronic pain, you gotta remember that the cognitive load of dealing with that is exhausting. Just that alone. Never mind what else you've got going on.
You're not lazy or being dramatic; you're overloaded.

Tavros laughed a little at the questions.
âMy favorite is our lemon shark, George. He likes to follow me around the tank when Iâm working by him. Most of the animals here were born in captivity, but there are a few that were found injured and couldnât be released.â He pointed out George as they passed. âSome of them do remember us, but some donât care as long as their meals are on time.â
Carcni reaches out to George as he passes, wistful. âSoo heâs⌠a friend too yoou. Soort oof.â
âYeah! He was just a little pup when I started here, so he grew up with my working with him. It helps that I can commune with them though.â
They turn, fins perking up. âYoou can coommunicate with them?â
âWell yeah? Can the Nitram you know not do that?â
