Mags was out wandering the streets, catching up on gossip and turning heads. New York was a hub and she intended to be a major part in it. Since she first came to the new world it was her goal. Now with her own house she was free to do as she pleased and right now she was eyeing up potential customers. Her heavenly smile beaming at the men that walked by with wandering eyes.Â
She stopped for a moment in the street to kneel down to a small girl. She was selling flowers she had picked herself and Mags intended to buy them all. The girl deserved to enjoy her life, not spend it peddling flowers. She took the flowers and held them in her hand taking a deep breath of their fresh scent before noticing the eyes on her. Her brows deviously raising at the other, “would you like one?”
Avery blushed, embarrassed to have been caught staring. Truth be told he wasn’t sure why he was still wandering around the streets of New York, when he could easily be catching a boat to Nova Scotia, arriving back in his beloved homeland. But instead, here he was, aimlessly meandering through New York, somewhat intent on spending the last of the money he’d brought with him from France. Â
So when the beautiful lady smiled at him and offered the flower as a half challenge it peaked his interest, if out of nothing more than boredom.  “I’ll take one, and a kiss if my lady has one for sale?” He quipped, siding over nearer to the woman and child.Â
